Default Help with my wreck (56k Warning High Big Hish Res Pic's) Should it be totaled?

Well i got in a wreck Today at around 7 A.M.(T-BONED) The other driver was at fault for running a red light. The vehicles that where in the wreck, ME:2007 Chevy Cobalt (base model) Them:1997 Toyota Camry. The other guy was very sorry and all i have all his information: Home Number, Insurance policy number, ETC. BTW he has State Farm and i have Progressive. My mom was with me and she is having back problems so we took her to the hospital, I was to worried for her so i didnt get my self check. But later that day err today i felt Pains in my neck and a massive headache till i took 1000mg of ibuprofen, The pain is coming back so im going to the doctor tomorrow morning. This is my first accdent and i really dont know what to do. As stated before it was his fault... But i need advice on what to do. i have pics of the after-math of the cobalt... Sorry if the pics are too big and what not but i dont know how to resize them and plus i think you can pick everything out better (Now i belived it will be totaled, Right i mean come on look at the rear q. panel of the car)

Call your insurance company and get them to come out and make an assessment of the damage. I think it might be totaled. Once they come out they will walk you through everything, especially considering that this is your first wreck. Good luck with everything.

Sorry to hear that. You need to go get checked out physically as soon as possible. You may need physical therapy for your neck and/or back. It's definitely worth it and the other guys insurance will pay for it in the end. Best of luck and I hope your mom turns out alright.

That should be ok. From what I can tell there's no way of saving your car, so the report would be no different between your insurance company and the other party's. Seems like you have nothing to worry about other than the headaches/neck pain. Smart of you to go to the doctor tomorrow, I know people who have ignored things like that and it came back to bite them in the ass down the road.

Yeah, i was reading up on how the little things that bother your neck/back can become REALLY big problems later on in life.

Your neck and back pain are typical w/ that type of accident, the loading of the spinal column from a lateral perspective can cause a lot of issues with the alignment of your back and the disks there in, also there is are going to be a lot of muscular issues. Your headaches are more than likely related to the fact that you probably kissed that passenger side window and now have a mild concussion. i would see your general MD. Basically you will have some PT and get a Motrin and flexiril regiment with some steroids to help ease the muscle tension. Glad to hear you are all right.

Did any airbags deploy? When our civic was hit the airbags came out, we have state farm like the guy who hit you. Ours was a hit and run so our insurance covered it, if the repairs and replacing the airbags (expensive I guess) cost more than the value of the car then it'll be totaled. And also when you talk to their insurance company tell them you want medical coverage to stay open 4-6 months, in case anything else comes up or you have to go to the DR. a couple of times for follow-ups.

make sure you tell the insurance agent about that you and your mum are hurting and been to the doc. That needs to be covered by the guys insurance since it was his fault. Otherwise your out of pocket for all the medical bills.

My friend got hit a month ago and she goes once a week for adjustments and a checkup due to massive headaches that she had two hours after the accident. All covered by other dudes insurance.

Thats what I meant by tell them to leave your medical coverage open for a couple months, back and neck problems could take several visits. The insurance company will sometimes pay for your initial ER or DR visit then try to close the claim and leave you with all the follow-ups or additional treatment. Just something to be aware of.

and No the Bags did not deploy i was pretty shocked they didn't but then again it was the base model so it didn't have ALL the goodies as the LT,LTZ,SS. OH well I guess im pretty lucky, I really don't think the cobalt was preped for side impact.

yeah its okay im not really worried about the car as much, just trying to make sure my mom is alright but IMO i belive the other guy knew he was going to run the light, but thought it was cool to run lights and prove how bad a$$ he is.... unless he really didnt mean to, but i just dont see how you cant see a BRIGHT org cobalt, today drove on lake harbin to see how it was on his POV and i could see the crossing intersection clearly... and from what some other dude is saying this guy thinks he is hot stuff. But its all going to be okay hopefully the Vehicals for sale forum picks up soon and some good deals come out Thanks for the concern.
