Default JDM? Is that what the fad is these days??

How about some REAL JDM shiit. I received my factory AM/FM radio the other day and noticed some cool shiit that falls into the "what features of my car are factory JDM" list.

I won't say what it is. Instead, I'll let you guys see if you can figure it out. Test your true JDM knowledge here. Later, QD.

The volume knob is on the right side instead of left???

lol, just a guess because typically, the volume knob is on the left for easier access.

Yes it does. See the three FM "tabs?" Those are it. On these radios, you find your station. To set it in "memory," you set your station, pull the "tab" out and then push it all the way in. When you want to go to that station in "memory," you just push the tab in.

This particular one is NOT a Panasonic model. It is made by National. And it does have AM. Later, QD.

    BAM!!!

The ON/OFF/VOLUME knob is on the right side. Everything for this car was made to cater to the driver being on the right side of the car. The antennae is on the right side roof, the radio (also the FM presets are on the right) is geared towards RHD. Even the hood release latch is on the right/center of the car. Later, QD.

Hmmmm. Radio frequencies are not JDM-land approved. JDM radio operates on different frequencies than American. Japan FM broadcasting band is 76 - 90 MHz wherewas most of the world use 87.5 - 100/104/108 MHz band from what I understand, I could be wrong.

see thats cool **** even to be as old as it is . hell its easy for a digital tape deck/tuner to set a preset .but to have a manual one that old remember a manual preset is tight .

I'm with Kevin, the frequencies are off for a ''jdm radio''.

All the cars I've had, the headunits operate within 76-90.

cool headunit by the way, it will look nice. Hopefully it still works lol.

    Yes I am.

Rupertaker. Yes it is American spec. But this, as was other aspects of the car was made for the importing of the car to USA. They just changed the frequency ratings to work over here. Since they only produced these cars in Japan, I imagine it was just cheaper to "Americanize" only what was necessary for importing. Thanks for the compliment. Later, QD.

    I like it. Reps

It's not going to be a real integration. Just going to mount the receiver somewhere out of site and use the remote to control it. It will just be wired through that stock radio and out the stock speaker outlets (with new speakers of course). Later, QD.
