Default The war machine (86 Starion ESi-R)

I plan on getting some different sized tires and flat black'ing the entire car (maybe even a satin black). I also need to refinish the rims...

you need to paint it asap. It is one of the best looking Japanese cars but that one looks like it was left to rot.

It kind of was. As with most of these cars, something happened to it and the owner parked it for years. Most it's mechanical problems, this one the guys wife wrecked it and by the time he got it fixed, he bought her another car so it just sat.

I like the route you're going with it man, I'd suggest a real paint job though.

If you can't afford it, save your cash and do it right.

    Otherwise, I like your style.

I still have to swap out the front seat belts and the dash. Waiting on the parts for the Maxima to come so I can do the rest of the swap at my leasure.

THe red on the rims was from the former owner of the parts car I have trying to paint them but apparently they gave up! lol I will sand them down and refinish, provided I am able to keep this setup. I've rolled the fenders front and rear and they still rub!

I'll probably need some smaller spacers on the rear and see if I can get the front to not rub and stop vibrating/jerking! I took the car to Walmart to have the fronts balanced and the guy said that the pass side rim is bent. He did say that the balance was way out even with the wheel weights still on from the used tire place. They wouldn't touch them since they where bent. I'm going to take them to another shop (or maybe just swap them to the back and see if it still jerks around!).

I think Satin black is calling my name for this car. I saw a pic thread with a 240 and a Porsche both looked to be flat/satin black and it was very sexy!

Satin/Flat black sucks. Finish the job and paint it gloss.

That would be a useful comment if he didn't say he likes Satin black, but uhh he did. If you go the satin route just make sure it's done correctly, if it is then that will be a great looking car. That's a nice start for a project, keep up the work man, don't let it die!

It will still look unfinished if it's done satin or matte. Quit arguing over opinions!

It's cool. EVeryone is entitled to their opinions...no matter how they present/state them.

This car will never be a show car. It's something I wanted and got for driving enjoyment in the mountains so a high quality/glossy paint job is not high priority. I do have to have it looking clean though...so SOMETHING has to be done w/ the body/paint!

Thanks for the input...keep them coming!

btw Jason, if you DO want to paint it satin black, you'll meet a guy at the old school meet that can do it for a really great price with exceptional quality ( he's going to do Matt's/Boosted77's )
