Say you have enough of money to purchase a GTR right now, would you do it or would you rather buy another car and pocket the rest of the cash.
Post the car you would buy.
Here are some I would rather own than the GTR:

It's all just personal preference. I would buy a 997 911 Turbo, yet you might have someone else who would waste his money on a Supra and go all out with it. Another might buy a house, and smart people will just save the money for their kids.
Nice choice, I'd get a 997 911 Turbo over a GTR anyday.Originally Posted by meepnork

Where are you getting the extra money to cover the price difference for a 997 Turbo from a GT-R?Originally Posted by x Resilience
The point of the thread was that if you had the money for a GT-R...what would you buy instead?
I think that rules out the new M3 and the Turbo in most cases, new ones at least.
Why does that rule out the M3? It's cheaper.Originally Posted by Kaiser

Top Gear said the car was a big improvement over previous TVRs...it was still a hell of a handful, but that's what I love about it. Here's the Top Gear video.
^^ I rather have a 335 coupe than that!!
I wouldn't want to own anything else but a GTR so.. nothing
I'd like a Cerbera too.

First off, its GT-R, not GTR. Dont want to piss off the NISMO police lol.
I wouldn't want a porsche or BMW because of the crazy costs involved. I'm a more DIY kinda guy. The motors in the vettes are really simple and dont have any hi-tech stuff to break (BMW's VANOS comes to mind...)
I drool over P and F cars all day long - but buying one is VERY different.
The 911 is simply a hot car, no two ways about it.
Corvettes have their own "Corvette tax", but not on all parts. The car is a funky hybrid of supercar and regular car. Other than tires - other than tires, regular maint. isnt a big deal. Did I mention tires?
Depending on how finicky the GT-R is about oil changes n stuff, I want a GTR!
I dont want a high maintenance pain in the ass in the garage *cough* Ferrari *cough*
You cant compare an M1, TVR, Spyker, Koenigsegg, Saleen S7R, F50, P4/5 etc to a damn GT-R.
Money isnt free - lets keep this fairly realistic for it to make any sense!
If we're talking Porsches...I'll have a 993 Twin Turbo...and I thought the TVR Sagaris works out to the same price as a Z06.

I actually looked them up on AutoTrader UK and the pricing isn't that bad. I was finding them from $70k to $90k. Also found Ceberas, Tameras and Tuscans from $15-$25k....which isn't all that expensive for how fast those cars are.Originally Posted by VooDooXII

That would all be great if they still made cars. Production stopped in 2006.Originally Posted by Doppelgänger

But there is hope as "maybe" in 2008 as the Sagaris is revised.
