More Shaving

Yup, thats what I've been doing today. Shaving the entenna, emblems, and rear key hole. Well here are the pics as it stands. Already welded up the holes and just put filler on them then im going to sand that down.

^LOL the side mouldings were an ass. oh well atleast there wasnt and indention that i would have to make a stip of metal to weld on.

And no there isnt glass underneath the bondo....its just a very thin layer just to fill in littl holes and lines from grinding. It wont crack, dont worry.

^yup...just for some of you all's info...i have seen glass crack before....This is why i stick to welding. Theres no way its going to crack, lol.

hehe..ohhh welding CAN crack...its just a hell of a lot harder to do. lol...

plus when you are molding a kit..id rather glass anyday. i woudnt even want to think about trying to reshape metal. lol

How did you do the side moulding exactly? I'll weld the rear quarter and use a filler but I don't want to tack tack tabs for the holes on the door because it will make it wavy and i doubt an adhesive would hold on the inside either.

An ITR skin is a little over $200 from the dealer and about $200-220 labor to put on and paint...I found a complete passenger side ITR door with glass, all electrical, and interior panel for less than a new skin but need the driver's side now...

Damn....what i did was take the side mouldings off....and there will be little square holes..just weld the hole up....put a tack on the left then right and keep going like that till you fill the hole in...then grind it down and put filler on it

...the heat from the tacks and grinding didn't make the sheetmetal wavy?

since they are tacks they wont make too much heat...and if you switch sides and let the tack cool down before you tak that side again you'll be fine

originally i wanted to put a thin sheet metal skin on the inside...or even just a 1" strip going all the way across the back of the holes and use some sort of adhesive to attached it, fill the outside and sand smooth. There is no filler anywhere on my car though and don't really wanna put any on...

exactly, i think all civics have the indention...either have to weld in the big strips and fill, glass it all (ugh), or just get the jdm thin side moulding and call it a day.
