This statement illustrates a lot of what went wrong in this thread.
    1. “decent pay job” -> I think he means “paint job.” However, this portion of the quotation illustrates the stupidity that is found throughout the entire thread.

    2. “save up” -> This idea implies that the driver’s main goal for his project car is a decent paint job. When the goal of this car is to be quick; the B16 a swap (the Si motor) does allow the car to run 15.2’s. However, a turbo is next on the list. To turbo a car takes a lot of money; thusly, very little money can be spent on paint. Cheap paint = spray paint. So maybe the red or maroon was not such a great idea, but the picture above illustrates a very well done black.

    3. “piece of ****.” -> The proclamation here provides us with the bias found throughout this thread when people saw the words “spray painted” and “civic.” The car is a good car. It wears the Honda brand, which we all know is reliable, and it gets from place to place with no problem. Thusly, it is a lot less ****tier than most cars on the roads today.

    4. “save up for the rest of your life” -> Aw! That is adorable. The driver of this car will be attending college and graduating to make plenty of money so that before he turns 24, the car will be painted in a gorgeous coat of Nighthawk Pearl paint and glossy with a fresh clear coat. Wow! That didn’t even take up half of the century humans are granted on this Earth.

Recap: The car is not supposed to be aesthetically to you. It is meant to be quick. The spray paint is just making it look better than the **** the previous driver had on it.

"Save up" would actually mean he doesn't have a few grand laying around for a paint job. Not that it's a main goal.

According to these guys, he won't be able to get a paint job until he's sitting on about what, $3000? Going by the "do it once, do it right, or just not at all rule" that some people seem to live for. On the other hand, I doubt some people that said that in this thread has had to spend money on painting a car, and actually did it "right".

If it's not supposed to be aesthetically pleasing, then why bother even trying to paint it at all? Why buy the wheels? Why buy the headlights? Why bother finishing?

Oh and please don't spend your whole day using the thesaurus on your response

FUCK GRAN TURISMO EAST!! NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR THERE, ESPECIALLY NOT FOR AN ALIGNMENT!! TERRIBLE BUSINESS!!

Just because it has a B16 doesn't automatically give it permission to play with the big boys. A low 15 sec Civic was quick back in 1998.

I posted up my opinion and was not one of the people who were clowning on it, because, well, everyone has to start somewhere. And I understand that. It doesn't have that many flaws, sure the wheels and headlights and of course the paint. But it's his car, it doesn't matter what other people think of it.

Instead of you coming in here and protecting your boyfriend, why not have him post up?

I guess you missed the part were he is working on making it faster, no one said this car hauls ass now so he's not worried about looks.

Here is whats up. Pretty much everyone on IA drives a project car, we all have strengths and flaws, some more that others. We cant all be baller and drive DX civics(fo door)(almost said that with a straight face). We all do what we can with what we have. Sorry we cant all be apart of the "cool" dx civic crowd.

I'm not posting up because I don't like this thread... lol my car isn't even close to being ready for criticism, especially on IA... where as... case proven.. the majority of people who care to give their input are jack a$ses. It has already been said that the wheels were there when i bought the car... and it didnt come with headlights... it did come with a cheap fiberglass black widow II bodykit, which I have had to spend money replacing. This thread isn't about my car, it's about CGEVAN's spraypaint job, he posted this thread... give him the heat... and lay off my project...

    I understand what you're saying.

But how would anyone only expect people to make fun of the paint job and not the car? I agree, that alot of people here are acting like a couple of jackasses. Does it really bother you? Because it shouldn't.

I hope that bolded part in your post wasn't directed at me, because I'm one of the few who actually had your back. http://www.importatlanta.com/forums/...&postcount=136

Wouldn't want to take my words back, and hit you with an assault of insults.

Wouldn't want to take my words back, and hit you with an assault of insults.
haha aside from that little threat...haha no bro, i dont have a problem with you at all, haha and to be honest... i dont really care, I was shocked when i was told my car got posted, and more so when i noticed that people had been talking for 10 pages lol... I don't even think its worth talking about for that long =D... but just wanted to say that i wasn't afraid of posting... (even though i only have like 10 posts =P) I was just ignoring this thread. Thanks for backing me up tho
