    Default My new toy! A few pics inside...

    This is my first bike I've owned. I've ridden a few times a few years ago but nothing like a sportsbike. It's taking some getting used to but I taught myself to ride it yesterday.

    I've got some parts on order (slip-on, tank cover, frame sliders). I don't plan on doing anything other than cosmetic changes to the bike. I already got the fender eliminator and flush mount turn signals installed on the bike to clean up the look.

    Yeah, I've got a thing for silver...

    It's a 2008 Yamaha R6.

    Yeah, I was a little hesitant to buy it. I've never ridden before and it's a lot of money to invest into something you've never tried. I'm loving it so far. I've gotten it up to 80mph on a long straightaway. It's pretty intense.

    Yeah, I've got the important safety gear. Alpinestar jacket, gloves, Shoei helmet for now. I'm trying to get used to looking around me, scanning the road and understanding my surroundings before I take it out on the road too much. It's an adjustment.

    I was only crusing through my neighborhood and it was hot. I wasn't getting enough speed to stay cool. When I went out on the street I was in my jacket, gloves and helmet. There's no excuse for not wearing it other than I felt pretty comfortable at that point to ride without it. I used my best judgement.

    Nice bike!! You don't look like the typical rider in your Lacoste polo, and those shoes. But preppy guys on sport bikes are HOTT.
