All Lotus production cars in the US have airbags.

Noble "production" cars have driver, passenger, and side airbags in Europe...and they too are kit cars in the US. You can not buy a M400 from 1gRacing (the only US distributor) with the engine and transmission installed. That's the only way around the US safety regulations. The 2008 Rossion Q1 will be available as a kit or include the powertrain for an extra $20k.

A TVR is just as legal in the US as a Skyline, it's not imported here but you can still obtain them with $$$. TVR of North America was in Canada and only one model was ever fully legal in the US, the 280i from 1984 to 1987...

The F430 was banned from the US until the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration granted it excemption of the 2008 and 2008 airbag ruling. They said the passenger side airbag wasn't suffiecient enough for kids and smaller passengers...Ferrari petitioned saying there would be virtually no children in the vehicle and succeded.

The Ariel Atom was only available as a rolling chassis from England, the Ariel Atom 2 by Brammo Motorsports is distributed through Trak Motorsports Inc. in Cananda, not the US...it's a kit minus the drivetrain or available as a turnkey.

Superperformance manfactures kit cars that are sold through distributors in the US that can assemble them for you ;)

I've met several retired Delta pilots that brought in Lotus Super 7's back in the day piece by piece on passenger flights :D
