BMW's answer to the R-Class I guess...and their current sellout item to the crossover frenzy.
Honestly though, I think it looks AMAZING. The front bumper is a little overdone, but otherwise...I really like it.

I'm generally not into the whole "crossover" deal, but this BMW Looks Good!
Good, Ole'Fasion bullshit!
Yea, there are very few crossovers which I really like.
The R-Class is disgusting...and I laugh at the fact that they've made an AMG version of it.
I do like the FX45 and the SRX though.
However, I think this X6 looks better than both of those. I hope the production model comes close to this, with a more sensible front bumper.
i love it...also it had a V12 i belive
A V12? I doubt it.
I think it'll just have the 3.0 liter straight six, the 3.5 liter twin turbo straight six, and the 5.0 liter V-8.
That would make the most sense, if they will produce a 530 (heavy car for that straight 6 n/a) then they would probably drop it in a crossover as well.Originally Posted by VooDooXII

*edit*
Got this off of edmunds, so its still speculation.
"Although the X6 will have a more aggressive look, its drivetrain isn't expected to deviate from the X5's current offerings. Expect top-of-the-line models to get the same 350 horsepower 4.8-liter V8 backed up by a six-speed automatic. BMW's new twin-turbo 3.0-liter is a good bet for the base models"
Good, Ole'Fasion bullshit!
the twin turbo engine is a 3.0L, not 3.5L... the last two numbers after the series number dont really mean the engine size anymore. the 328i is a 3.0L also, but N/A. The 550I is a 4.8L V8. The 5L engine is a V10 now (M5, M6). The X6 will be made to compete with high end SUV/Crossovers, so it will most likely have at least the 3.0L twin turbo, if not the 4.8L V8. You can already get the X5 with the 4.8L V8. I doubt the V10 will ever make it into the X6, unless BWM starts adding their SAV's and Crossovers to the ///M Line. btw, theres also a X1 concept that is supposedly going to be realeased 2009 or 2010.Originally Posted by VooDooXII

I'm guessing an X6 3.5 will start around $55,000.

Cheyenne is the name of an old Chevrolet pickup truck, and also the name of a Chevrolet concept truck.
Haha, I know what you meant though.
The Cayenne V6 starts at $43,500 or something like that.
The Cayenne S is $58,000
The Cayenne Turbo is $94,000
The Cayenne Turbo S is $112,000 though I don't know why you'd buy one...they're not much quicker than the Turbo, despite the extra power. Probably all that weight that's holding it back.
looks mean.. reminds me of the ml Mercedes in Jurassic park
I saw three of these a few weeks ago. There was three silver current year model X5's before them and three behind them, and these three X6's had the black canvas typical of concept cars on the street. I passed them headed back from school on Hwy 369 in Gainesville. Didn't know what the hell was up, but those headlights tell me for damn sure that's what they were.
nice nice.....
