Two models: i4 turbo 215 hp, and 3.8L V6 around 300HP
They also have a Brembo Brake option.

it would be weird to have the v6 and the I4 turbo both in the states....
Great find! That looks like a mint little car.
Oh god I may want a Hyundai.
Just because the engine is in the car "north-south" doesnt mean it will be RWD, there are plenty of cars out there that are FWD that the motors oriented in the engine bay like that. Look for proof of a rear diff or something.
But i would respect Hyundai if they made a RWD car.

aside from the pictures, i'm pretty sure hyundai confirmed that it will be rwd at a recent auto show.Originally Posted by DropTopDrifter

Interesting, but the price will be the final judge. I doubt many buyers will shell out 350Z money for a comparable Hyundai. Take the current V6 Eclipse for example. If Hyundai can crank out that V6 model at a lower price than a 350Z or RX-8, it could catch the eye of quite a few people. I'll keep my eye on this car for sure.![]()

That's actually not bad considering the power per dollar. Again, it'd be best if the V6 could come down a penny or two. It's going to be tough to keep people from spending the same money on an RX-8 or 350Z. Those two cars seem like they're going to be the Hyundai's biggest competition.Originally Posted by KDM guy
i want one. its been a long time coming for the tibby. they already look good now the will have the ass to back it up and the rwd fun to boot. if i had money i would buy
when is this coming out, i want. turbo 4? i like......
would be a tough choice between the two models though, turbo 4 or n/a 6?
Aftermarket turbo for the 6???Originally Posted by fastboyamin

damn it; now i cant make fun of hyundai.
it's high-time hyundai started getting a little respect.
Oh i see my new car. In the very future....I was so close to get the new G35 but now that I see this oo I saving some more money for mods and this.
I love the Tibby looks but FWD FTL! There is a pretty quick tibby running around augusta with 550+ fwhp. That thing is quick but RWD would have been insane.

the Korean version has been AWD and 300hp for some time now. Also, the V6 is boostable. balanced built the augusta one with a GT35R.Originally Posted by fastboyamin
Every time the big V6 swap topic comes up on newtiburon.com, the weight issue is usally the first problem to be pointed out. Unless Hyundai can find a way to drop some weight off the already chunky tiburon, I think the turbo I4 will definitely be the better route.

Hyundai's supposed to be announcing it in 2008, production in 2009. Everything right now is pretty much speculation though..

The 02-up models aren't too bad, but when the 1st and 2nd gens were out...oh my.

the 1st and 2nd gen tibs are.
similar to kdm guy.. ive been told the i4 turbo in the states will start at 19 but the v6 not being 25 it would be around 22. again these are starting. im sure by the time you throw in every option it should be close to 25 or 26.
still not bad.since RX-8 and 350Z can get into the 30ks
and god knows what the supra will cost,im gonna guess 65-70k
