i think the saab is a great substitute for what rahul's got instore for the GTO. GTO may be a little overwhelming in the weight department...

Every GTO that I found kept getting sold, and insurance and gas would've been a splurge for me. I'd still love to have a GTO, but even with this car...I've got something that's quick, fun to drive, stylish, and comfortable. It's also something that not everyone has. Maybe I'll try to get a G8 later on...much later on, haha.

I wasn't really worried about weight...I don't know how I'd handle 400 bhp though. Yes, the GTO is easy to drive civily...but seriously, I know that I'd want to play with all 400 bhp sometime or another. Hell, I've developed a bit of a lead foot with this car just because it picks up speed so effortlessly. This one's got a bit more space though, plus in the SAAB, I can mount these subs that I've had lying around.

Well that TSX is his mom's...he has a new Frontier. They traded cars that day I think because his mom had to move stuff...either that, or he was just trying to impress Emily, the girl in one of the pictures.

    Appreciate it!

    New car? PM'd.

I wrote about this when I had my automatic loaner, so I might as well let you guys know how the stick shift in this one feels.

In short...pretty damn nice. The clutch is a little light for my tastes, but it engages very smoothly and it has a pretty short pedal-travel. The selector has a pretty short throw too, but effort is just a smidge too high. Easy to get used to though. The gearstick isn't very comfortable to grip though, so I just end up holding it with three with my pointer, middle, and my thumb.

It's pretty fun to launch. I brought it up to about 2,500...and didn't quite DUMP the clutch, but I let it out relatively quick. Again it's a short travel, so it's easy to let it out quickly and smoothly.

On that note...this car is FAST. This car just picks up speed so effortlessly...granted you're above 2,000 RPM, otherwise the turbo isn't spooling and you're not really moving.Maybe I'm just thinking that it feels fast because the speedometer is huge...but the feeling of me being pressed up against the seat-back is reassuring enough.

I love this car. I love how a lot of people don't exactly know what it is. I love it's ridiculous features like the artsy hidden cupholders, the Night Panel, the air-conned glove box (which is massive, I might add). It also has a mad JDM Tyte rear fog light which is bright as hell...so now I have something to flash at people who follow me with their high-beams. I love how it drives. It's very predictable, and very responsive...and if I fuck up, at least I know I'll be safe. It's extremely comfortable too. I probably mentioned this before but the seats are AMAZING. I drive back and forth between Atlanta and Suwanee a lot, and my ass never goes numb in these thrones. The back has plenty of room too. The SAAB is great. The only thing it's missing is a nice exhaust note...which can be fixed.

It's no GTO, but I still think I made a great choice. It's stylish, lots of fun to drive, and quite luxurious. It's also better on gas than the GTO, and it's a sedan with a bigger trunk so it's more practical. Of course above all...it's unique. I think there are only two other SAAB owners on IA...hah, excellent.

What I meant was Saab's are just not very good vehicles.

    1. Pain in the ass to work on

    2. Pain in the ass to work on

    3. Reliability is sketchy at best

    4. Did I mention reliability is low?

    5. GM now owns them...

    6. Saab Story

Have fun with it but for the price of a Saab there is so much better... hell I might even buy certain Japanese cars before a Saab and that is saying ALOT!!!

Aside from exhaust though...Aero1116 mentioned the BSR PPC Reflash. I'd also get some coilovers, 18" BBS RK wheels, and smoke the tails...and my car will be set.

    Umm! NOOOOO!!! Lol!

Isn't that the Turbo 2.0 Ecotec in there? I'd go with HpTuners software (unless they still haven't finished anything for you guys), slightly bigger turbo, bigger injectors, paint the stock wheels black, black out tails, upgrade suspension and tires and

Two thumbs for potentially sick Saab!

Hptuners should have something for you guys soon though, I mean, they already did the Eco 2.2 and 2.0 and 2.4 for the Cobalt SS? Who knows? But their software kicks ass and is much less than a stand-alone and does A TON more than a reflash!

Haha, the more I look at the wheels it came with, the more I like them. I don't know if I'll have to paint them black though. I mean, a day on the highway, and they spit off enough brake dust to make the wheel black.

It does have a turbocharged Ecotec. I'll do some research on HpTuners...good lookin' out.

Dinan, I know that SAABs aren't the most reliable cars out there and I'm prepared for that. I'm happy with my decision nonetheless.

As for Emily...she said she didn't really care about her pictures. Now it's just up to me whether I want to post them or not...for fear of leg humpers.

I'm not posting any more of her pictures. If you really want to see her, come to the Varsity.

On the other hand...more pictures! Thanks to Eric (ekcivic9) for the fucking AMAZING shots...and the ability to resist the hardcore JDM Tyte Dorifto angle shots.

If you like the shots...reps go to him, not to me.

Don't forget to rep Eric (ekcivic9) for the shots!

Haha, I agree...less griminess...more trendy/city-like setting. Eric and I were just looking for any spot that we wouldn't get kicked out of.

I think the parking lot ones, and the first set are the absolute best.

    Eric, YTMND!
