Default FS: Passport 8500 radar detector and gt2 performance computer

I have a Passport 8500 Radar detector, not x50, for sale. $150. I have both the hard-wire cord and standard cord. I also have a Passport GT2 Vehicle performance computer. This does basically what the "g-tech pro" does that you see on TV. It measures g force, 0-60, qt-mile, hp, etc. $150. Or I will sell both for $275. PM me if interested.

How effective would you rate the meter?
Also, the detector, it has the red letters right?

Decent price on 8500...it is still WAAAAAAAAAY better than 90% of the stuff out there. I'd buy it, but i already have a X-50 . Same question as Aaron how effective is the G-Timer?

I would consider the 8500 very dependable, it's saved my ass a number of times. As for the timer, I've tested it in evrything from an auto dx civic,it read 89hp and 20.05 sec qt mile, to a nitrous fed chopper!(180 hp and 10.2 sec qt mile) I used it at the track last year at Reynolds to test qt. mile accuracy and it was only 1/10 sec off of the official trap speed. I'd say it's pretty accurate. My only beef w/ it is it's hard to find a place around here were you can really run flat out and use it, traffic or cops always deter your results.

A lot of people come on IA all the time wanting to use a POS $100 detector and they wish it performed like the 8500 or V1.

Now someone puts one up for a low price and NOONE jumps on it???

It's a great detector. I've had one for years. Still use it in the wife's car.

The Gtimer is Passports version of the Gtech. It will be about as accurate as you want it to be, which is to say that it's consistent. It should not be used in lieu of a real dyno or real track, but it is a cool little tool to see if your "mods" give your car ANY improvement from before. It's easy to use and it does have some really good consistency. Go out and run it BEFORE you put on a mod, and then you can run it right after you install your new mod to see the difference right then and there. It's not designed to 10000% accurate, but it will definetly get you close enough for gov't work to what your car does.

Good luck on the sale. As long as this is legit, it sounds like a good deal to me.
