    Default noob needs advice

hey whats goin on IA. So i just did some research and i found specs on the amp that i have.
its a JVC KS-AX6500. its a 4 channel amp that is bridgeable. i have 2 kicker cvr 10" hooked up to that amp. the story is that
one of the four channels is not working so i cant bridge both. i have very little understanding so i just had to mess around with it for a while until i kinda understood it. common sense told me that it would make sense to hook up BOTH subs to one channel bridged. idk if you guys understand that. but as soon as i did that both subs hit equally as hard and they hit like double as hard as they used to hit! i was very happy but then i was kinda worried.. idk if this puts unneeded stress on the amp.. or even if this way to hook stuff up is recommended. ive been runnin this setup for about 2 days now and everything seems to working right. i was just running it by you guys to see what you guys thought.

    heres a diagram

i know its a fail on the before part of the diagram. lol. bear with me

    anyways.. thank you

First the Kicker CVR subs...are they single or dual voice coil? Single will have one set of +/- connections and the Dual will have two sets of +/- connections.

i think theyre dual voice coil. they have 4 connectors and the + and - are like bridged i guess. if u know what i mean.

Okay, the subs and amp are not ideal matches. However, here is how you can wire it...

Wire channel 1 of the amp to one side of the sub. Then take some extra wire and run it from that connection on the sub to the one on the other side of the sub. This is called Parallel Wiring and the amp will see 2ohms on channel 1. Repeat this process for sub 2 and channel 2. If channel 1 or channel 2 on the amp is blown, move to the next channel.

There are some other ways you can do it, but this will deliver even power to each sub. This will run the 2 channels on the amp @ 2ohms. If you wire the subs together and bridge channel 1 & 2 together, you will get them same amout of power, but will be more to wire. So the first way is better because it will be easier to wire for one, but each sub will have it's own speaker wire to allow better power flow.

It sounds like to me that everything is wired correctly. The only thing that might hurt you in the long run would be both subs running bridged off of one channel, but having the subs bridged as well should help the everything out. I had my old system ran this way and it sounded great for as long as I can remember but I had it bridged across two channels.
