    How on earth do I get rid of it???

    You sure it is the tag? The bolts as tight as they can go on it? You can try adding washers to the bolts, adding bottom bolts to the plate if it doesn't already have them, or find a friend with some dynamat style deadener you could have.

    fold up a piece of news paper and jam it behind the tag.......i did it on my nissan and it worked pretty good

    cork it. some places sell these little cork circles with an adhesive side on it. not sure what it's called but it works.

    get a few squares of dynamat and a piece of Dynasorb, or the roadkill equivalent and place it on the back. Its a sure fire way to get rid of the rattle and will only cost a few dollars... Dynamat and Roadkill both sell License Plate Kits that are pre cut to the size of the license plate.
