    Default cd player help

My cd player went out in my 2002 cavalier so i got me aftermarket one and wire harness so i connected all the wires together but cd player wont turn on. To me cavalier harness doesnt have 12 volt ingnition wire in the harness or it has it but its togehter with 12 volt battery wire so if i put 12 volt baterry and ignition wire together the cd player works but the prob is when u turn off ignition and take the key out the cd player would still work. So anyone has any ideas how do i go with this prob

i had this happen before i had to run the yellow wire to the red and the red to the yellow dont know it worked and funny thing is it was in a 88 cavalier...... if that dont work for ya as in it looses memory after you turn off the car, just make your power connection and ign connection at the fuse box.

Yes, you are running your switch power wire with your constant power wire, so there is no way for the CD player to turn off since it is always receiving power. You need to detatch the red switch power wire and run it to your ignition wire. So it will only receive power with your turn your key to the on position.
