    Default What components to get?

I'm going to be getting 6-1/2 component speakers soon but I can't decide what to go with. I have alpine type-s full range speakers in my rear deck they added a lot of bass and I like them a lot. I will be powering them off my headunit so that's maybe 20rms. I would like to get the type-s components but it bugs me that they don't have a real crossover. But then again I hate super bright tweeters that hurt your ears, I just like a warm tone. I also really like infinity's but I have heard that they sound the best in a box. I don't really like kickers cause my friend has them and they pop/crackle worse than rice crispies. I don't have any experience with MB quarts but they are in my price range. Which is $110 and under. Are there any other brands I should consider?

Take a look at Polk Audio and Boston Acoustics. I have the Polks in my Teg, and the BA's in my truck, and I'm very happy with both! They are very smooth and extended, with none of the 'harsh' sound you refer to. Both of em are a little above your stated budget, but they do have coax versions that would do the trick for you.
    Hope this helps a little.

Ya my buddy has polks and they do sound pretty good. Those are $122 shipped. How much better are they than the pther brands I have spoken of, and do you have any experience with those other brands?

didnt really look at those listed, but if you are powering off of a head unit, make sure you get a set with X-overs that accept high level inputs.

not all component sets will accept a high level signal from a head unit. Some will only accept an amplified signal.

High level means amplified, the outputs of a head unit are amplified, and I have yet to see a component set that will take 50 or 100 watts but not 15. It will not sound as good off of a head unit as it would an amp but it will still work.
