    Default JL or Memphis?

what do you prefer? a buddy thinks JL is the best out there, I prefer memphis, better quality. and I have heard a w7 and w3...the w7 was too much and the w3 would be about the only sub I would get from jl, but I still prefer memphis it just sounds clearer/deeper to me. just looking for some input

I have a 10w7 with the 500 amp, and it skake my whole car. Definitely a JL fan. Never heard memphis before, can't judge on that.

JL is a nice clean high quality base, plus the speakers last there very well made,
Yet memphis is a bit more dirty sounding base, yet the speakers are made pretty well
I have worked in audio for ever. go with the JL it is clean, and will last!

JL easily. Its an all around better product. JL price to performance is horrible, but that doesnt take away from the quality of the equipment. Memphis is midline gear. Its a good decent product, but JL is a high end brand when olny considering manstream products.

If thats the only 2 chioces, JL. I agree Memphis is a great brand, but JL was created by an audiophile, for audiophiles, but along the way go hi-jacked by every big mouthed bragging kid as his own brand. I have never owned a JL piece that didnt do exactly what I expected or better, I have been disappointed with numerous other brands. Also, IMO....JL= SQ, Memphis = SPL, not to say thats all they do and they can't do both.

JL is more expensive, but you can get memphis to hit hard as hell, other ones to look at is kicker and pioneer premier

Memphis would be my choice. You just can't beat it when it comes to the same sound quality as JL but cheaper. JL makes bad ass hardware though too. Their amps push full power all the way down to 9.6 volts.

Lol at memphis having better quality. JL all the way every day. For the power levels the subs require they are very loud, very efficient, and very good sound quality. I've got a 12" w6v2 running off a 500/1 and I couldn't be happier.

The only reason JL is considered "high end" is because its expensive. I'd put the m3's up against the w6's and the mojo's up against the w7's any day. thats SPL and Sq.
