Default FI BTL's or DD9500 series?

Thinking about a new system and not too sure on what to get. Awhile ago I was planning on a large scale system and heard about the DD9515 but I just heard about the BTL's and they seem as though they would be in the same catagory as far as subs go. I want loud, something that sounds decent while doing it but I want loud overall on a scale that best buy and circuit city subs couldnt take me to. Any thoughts?

I would go with the 9500 personally. The BTL is more of an SPL sub and the 9500 can be used for street beating or SPL if you want to compete at all with it.

I might compete on a small level. Maybe if they had like a daily beater class I would. I wouldnt compare to a spl drag car in anyway. But it would def. be loud for a daily beater. Which is more reliable? And have you had experience with both subs/or brands before?

the DD 9500 is about the most reliable sub you will ever find. I've been around alot of them back when I competed and I've seen single 9515's take as much as 18k watts for a burp and survive it.

All i know about the BTL is what I have read about them. From what I have gathered they are a comp sub, not really a street beater.

Oh and I plan on using DD in my next install in my truck. probably 4 3512's with 6kw.

BTL.. i have one here at the house ... really a street comp sub.. they say you can use it as a daily but have yet to hear anyone really do that.. 9515 i'd go with those over the BTL... 2 9515 took about 15k at this last show i was at.. so yeah .. really good

Where do you even buy BTL's I looked but never found any good sites. I would never get one though, I see no point to SPL. Whats the point, it ruins the music.

the point of SPL isnt to play music, in fact, music would kill the subs in seconds on only a small fraction of the power they use for comps. Most spl compeditors only play 1 or 2 tones in their vehicles. When I had my SPL box, it only played a 68hx tone and that 68 was more than 10db higher than a 72 or 64 hx tone.

Dracc, When you get that BTL installed I want to hear it. What are you powering it with?
