just ground the pink wire lol... thats all
What he said, lolol...or whatever color the e-BRAKE wire is. If you can't figure that one out then errr...i can't imagine what the wiring for the amps, crossovers, speakers, etc. look.Originally Posted by Dracc

ive installed a dual where the code didnt work so i had to use a toggle switch and do the E brake by-pass sequence with the toggle switch for it to work also.

i too am struggling with the bypass switch on a Pioneer in dash.
Which model pioneer are you having trouble with? their bypasses arent typically as simple, although just grounding the light green wire sometimes does the trick.
Single... but looking.
the pioneer you will need a toggle switch and run the actual e brake with to the brake pedal and then to the toggle switch... press brake in park then flip the switch then let go of the brake then your good
Why not just ground the wire and close the loop 100% of the time?Originally Posted by Dracc
sometimes grounding it like that on high end screens sends current back to the screen and then POOFFFFOriginally Posted by speedminded

I'm saying if it has to sense the e-brake switch is open/closed then just wire it up as if it's not there.Originally Posted by Dracc
Post a wire diagram of the headunit and I can "red line" it showing exactly what would need to be done.
Pioneer's are model specific. Meaning what works for the avic-n3 does not necessarily work for the avic-z1, although there are exceptions. Some of their bypasses require dropping soder under that little silver piece of tape that says "VOID" if you peel it up. Others a flash of the parking lights while in its loading screen bypasses the e-brake.

i just grounded mine out and it worked but some models you will have to run a toggle switch.
If it requires a switch then that means there is 2 wires coming from the head unit specifically for the e-brake right?Originally Posted by 98cvcex
no.. one wire.. spliced into the switch... its just to trick the e brake wire that the car is in parkOriginally Posted by speedminded
nope just one wire. when hooking up switch you may have to flip on and off depending on what ya want to do with head unit (i.e. listen to radio or watch dvds)
on the duel indash touchscreen models you can't just ground the E-brake wire. Theres a built in safety that has a 10-13 sec bypass. I had to hook up a switch to it and if it doesn't show a pic i flip the switch off for 10 sec and then back on then it shows the video.
the bypass for the Dual brand screens is clearly printed in the manual that comes with them new. The toggle is like 5 seconds on, 5 off, then back on, or some random amount of seconds for each one, and then it works. Same goes for Jensen's, Audiovox's, and etc, as they are all the same product...
