    Default Small subs questions

I'm going to get some small subs for the trunk of my car, its a civic, with limited trunkspace, and I can't have all of the trunkspace taken up, so im opting for some pretty small subs. I've looked around on crutchfeild, and people seemed to like the 8" Rockford Fostgate subs, the box only needs to be about .25 cubic feet, which im sure will be small enough for me. Does anyone here use these subs? I'm trying to look for subs that will beat a bit, but nothing crazy, what woudl you reccomend.

There arent all that many options. I would consider JL 8's and Kicker 8's though if you must have that small of a sub.

what kind of music do you listen to curiously? If it's Rap/R&B you will hate the 8 inch subwoofers, too crisp and not enough pound. Now if you like alternative good to go.

I'm probably going to go for a single 10, I listen to rap, but i don't need to have super super boom boom bass or anything, I'm just looking for a good bit of an improvement, nothing crazy.

In terms of sound quality, would you choose a single 10, or 2 8's, and by sound quality, i mean pleasant for some old boring person to listen to, not something that is going to sound like thunder. What I was thinking is getting a sub so I can let my speakers play the highs/mids, while the sub plays the lows, is this bad logic?

I would go for a single 10 because its more versatile. 8's are nice and they hit clean but have a limited range.

Pick up a single 10'' Alpine Type R, I helped a buddy install that in his civic and it beat pretty hard for a single 10. We had it running off and older Alpine V12 amp, the F350 I think it was. Good setup

i've got a polk momo 10" sub that does around 300 RMS which isn't all that crazy but it's still enough to hit hard. i'm trying to sell it so PM if your interested. i'll throw in a free vented box with it. but yea man i was just like you a year ago cause i said the same thing about how i just wanted a little bit of bass, nothing too crazy. but i soon learned of the addiction in bass and found myself working up to bigger, better, and louder stuff. haha but that's just me.
