    Default Fuse Size.

I have a 250w Crunch amp i'm only running my door and rear speakers off of. They're all 6.5" speakers. Just cheap ones but sound plenty good enough for me. I just went out and am relocating my battery to the back of my car. I pulled my seat out to run the wires and stuff, and because my stereo quit working. It had a 10 amp fuse in it thats blown. I obviously want to change it, but what size do I use?

I'm also putting in an RCA noise surpressor too. Thanks!!

battery and amp in the back now? What size (if any) fuse are on the amp?

Option 1) IF the amp is REAL close to the battery, AND you can access the on-board amp fuses easily, you could consider not using an additional fuse.

Option 2) If you want to be extra safe, you should use the same or higher value than the total fuse rating on the amp. IF the amp has a 20 amp fuse, then you might consider either a 20 or 25 amp fuse in the main fuse holder.

Battery is all the way in the back of my CRX. The AMP is under the seat. I dont have an inline fuse yet for the main power. So its not even hooked up right now. The fuse in the Amp itself is blown.

If a 10 amp is what came out, then put a 10 back in. Crunch designed the amp with the proper fusing on it.

I would think about a fuse close to the battery in-line with the power wire. THIS one you typically go larger in value.
