^^^ exactly. The box will be determined by the theile-small parameters of the subwoofer. Go to the manu's website or check the manual and find out what the recommended air space is. The shape of the box doesn't matter (as long as it's not perfectly square) as long as the internal airspace is correct. To calculate air space of an enclosure you want to build, multiply the w x d x h and divide by 1728. This will give you the air space in cubic feet. Hope this helps.

screws are overrated, get an air nail gun, line the edges with wood glue, it works fine. My audio guy does the same thing. And ive never had a box spring a leak in 4 years. And he has built me 5 or 6 fiberglass boxes, along wiht the 1st place stereo install at nopi last year, and 1st and second int ehir classes escalade and tahoe at nopi as well.

hmm. you must have some special nails, every time i use them i have blown the box apart... then again it alll depends what speakers and what box design. i have no problem using nails to get a box in shape. however using them to actually hold it together is not something i would recommend.

    btw fiberglass is comepletly different...

yeah i know glass is different, iw as just pointing out that it would make it completely different.

As far as the nail thing, make sur eyou use a good wood glue, thats what really holds it together honestly. THe nails just hold it until it dries.

back on topic, it should only take you a few hours to make it, its not an in depth project unless youw ant to go bandpass or whatever, but its jut a box, dont look too far into it.
