That being said, I don't think there should be BET or WET. I don't think there should be "white pride" or "black pride" T-shirts......or any of that good stuff.

All of the people who fought for equality fought for just that....equality. If you have a BET then that brings the reason for a WET.

If you don't understand that then you don't understand what equality is.

–noun, plural -ties. 1. the state or quality of being equal; correspondence in quantity, degree, value, rank, or ability.

That's means that what is good for one is good for another. People like MLK fought against segregation. He is highly regarded and, in fact, has his own day (which is awesome!). If you truly believe in what he and others like him said then it's not fair to segrate anyone by any means.

written bt TS- lol there is so much more than just MLK. he has done alot for THIS country but there are other who have done just the same and has not been acknowledged for their efforts and this day and age!

Now all of that being said, you can say the same thing about genders...it's a debate that can go in all kinds of directions. But to me fair is fair. I understand what black people say when they say every month is white history month...every channel is WET...so on and so forth. I just don't think that 2 wrongs make a right.

If you believe in what the civils rights activists fought for then you should have some integrity in what you are supposed to believe in and think that it's all wrong. That's how I feel. I don't want a WET. I don't want a special scholarship for white people. I don't want anyone to say white pride. I also don't think it's right for the other side. MY .02.

I agree with Tracy 100%. I think that there should just be Spike, CNN, and the History channel. I don't wish to go waving flags, but I want it to be okay. I don't want to have White history months, white pride t-shirts, medalions with Germany on them. I don't want to be refferred to as a white American, just American. I only wanted to show that the balance is shifting past equal. I believe that we should all be treated the same. Not better, not worse.
Scholarships purely on MERIT
Jobs purely on SKILL
etc....
I just get tired of being pinned as a racist because I am not ashamed to be white. This whole thing stemmed from a friend of mine getting suspended. Someone called her a cracker, and she said it shouldn't be okay for you to call me a cracker if I can't call you a nigger. Both words only have meaning only if interpreted. Neither mean anything to me...
