i've never rented a car before, yeah crazy but just one of those things i've never had to do until this past weekend.

Being ready to get on the road as soon as i could i really didn't pay attention to the billing and thought the total included the deposit so wasn't concerned. Anyways, i've always heard to get the insurance...maybe it was just from watching too much CKY? The bill for the car was around $130 but the insurance/waiver BS added an extra $120+?!!! When i was billed $260+ i assumed that was the cost plus the deposit and the deposit would be refunded upon return (or maybe not charged but at least held until return).

Is there really any point in getting the insurance if my sole purpose isn't to go out and trash the car? Won't my own insurance cover accidents or damage? This is all new to me Not that it really matters because i'm being refunded, it's just the principal when i say how much something is going to be and it's actually twice as much.
