Border shooting

Two border patrol agents opened fire on a SUV packed with suspected illegals yesterday after the driver sped off as they attempted to search the vehicle. They recieved a tip that the driver had earlier been seen picking up illegal immigrants and decided to tail the driver. When they hit rush hour traffic at the border they pulled the guy over. Only the driver was killed.

I believe we need to tighten our borders, but this is going too far. Opening fire on a boatload of "suspected Immigrants" in the middle of rush hour traffic(Like the guy was going to get away?) was completely unnecessary. They weren't even sure if the guy was smuggling illegals in and out. This is going to stir up a shit storm.

thats like saying a suspected serial killer was seen killing a bunch of people, got pulled over, ran and we shouldnt shoot at him. a crime is a crime, your pulled over, you run, you got somethign to loose.

when people run like that(espically in a car) they put "OUR" lives in danger. I would want anyone of us(or anyone we know) to be hurt or killed by a criminal on the run

^^^^^^ yeah for all we know he could have been smuggling drugs.. or weapons.. if u run while being searched then ur hiding something.... and something needs to be done about it... they know what risk they are running when they're doing something illegal...

I see what you guys are saying. My point was this. They didn't know anything for sure. They went on a hunch. They opened fire around pedestrians and are lucky noone else was killed.

Edit: They initally pulled the guy over on "suspicion"(sp) of smuggling illegals. They had no hard evidence. You guys are right. He could have been a drug dealing, mass murdering psychopath, but that's not saying he was. Cops can bring in murderers and suspected felons alive. This isn't the first time someone has "run" from the cops. What about this case was so "different" that warranted deadly force?

not saying it warranted deadly force, but i do think it's necessary to stop someone who pulls away like that. if those agents were on the scene and if they felt shooting was the only way, then i trust their judgment on it...

I agree. Another part of that is that the SUV was trying to push one of the agents that was on foot toward moving traffic by slowly rolling the SUV forward...

The border patrol is trained to handle these kinds of situations.. its in their instincts.. if they felt the need to do what they did.. i trust them on that

I suppose you guys could be right. It's just hard for me to justify taking a life. Then again we really don't know the full story yet. If the SUV driver was trying to kill one of the patrolmen, then blast his ass. The way I read it it sounded like the guy just sped off. oh well. I googled border shootings and got a ton of pages on crazy immigrants with knives and swords trying to kill border patrolmen. I didn't think their job could be so peralous(sp).

yeah i mean if u think about it, it's crazy the shit ppl will do and go through to come through the states (stuck in seat cushions, other compartments, back of tractor trailers, u name it man) and the amount of money they'd shell out.

if they run then they need to be stopped, and if they tried to run over a border patrol while attempting to run or have posed a threat to anyone else in the vicinity, then they need to be stopped by any means necessary.

The vast majority of the media just wants to make anything that conservatives think is correct look bad...with that said I think they should shoot more illegals trying to come into our contry illegally. Evenutally the media would get tired of covering the same story over and over again and quit.

From the stories I've read it sounds like it's been happening for the past couple years and it doesn't appear to be making a difference. Shooting our neighbors creates an enemy on our back door that we really don't need right now IMHO.

While your idea is novel I doubt it will ever happen. The media would camp out by the fences waiting for some latino boy to wander onto a landmine and get his legs blown off and throw it on CNN.

I've said it a hundred million times before.....political correctness is going to be the downfall of everything. The U.S. (and some of our allies) are the ONLY countries in the entire world that worry about being politically correct FIRST. something i just read, i'll have to find the article but immigration is hitting other aspects of our lives as well... i was just reading how cali went from being ranked #29 four years ago in education to #46... a contributing factor in the drop is the increased numbers of illegals.
