    Default Stock Market Basics

Ok, IronChef and myself get littered with questions everytime we start posting on stocks. So i figured I would put some links and info in here so noobs can get an Idea what its about.

I can be found on Yahoo: ATLhellrotM3

First off... Ill be the first to admit this is probably the hardest thing i have ever done (daytrading). Im sure IronChef will also contribute to the insanity we go through on a daily basis. we both have high risk tolerance, which is needed for the penny market. Just food for thought: we risk daily a couple months wages from our 'normal jobs'. A lot of people would think thats insane in such a volitile market, if you do.. Please go trade the NYSE, not pennys.

    And please remember
RULE #1: DONT RISK WHAT YOU CANT AFFORD TO LOOSE!!!!

Second off... ill cover some terms off the top of my head. (yes, i am sure i forgot some, but theses are ones we use daily, and u can not communicate with a trader with out them.) This is a good start for people, you have to be able to speak the same language.

    Basics:

Symbol - this is what you type in to look up/buy/sell your stock

Bid - What a buyer is willing to pay for stock (the buyer bids the stock up)

Ask - What the sellers are asking for thier shares.

Rule of thumb = you buy on the ask, and sell on the bid.

Last - the PPS at which the last trade was executed

    PPS - Price Per Share

High Of Day (HOD) - the highest the PPS has reached for that day

Low of Day (LOD) - oppisite of HOD

    Advanced Basics:

Market Maker (MM) - these are the 'middle men'. they are the ones that buy thier shares on bid and sell the to you at ask. (rule of thumb, not always true).. my personal favorite MMs are UBSS and NITE haha.. hate them bastards.

Level 2s (L2) - shows you market depth of a security. shows what PPS a MM is sitting for both bid and ask. gives you excellent data, with out this, a daytrader is nothing.

Time and Sales (T&S) - Shows every trade that occurs. Data: Time, # of Shares, and at what PPS.

Due Dilligence (DD) - i guess you could call this home work. Its broken down into 2 cats : TA and FA

Technical Anaylisis (TA) - The study of charts and indicators

Fudemental Anaylsis (FA) - the study of a Companies basic operating foundations. which inludes : financials, sector, and anything else relating to a buss. operation.

Press Release (PR) - what a company issues to inform the general public of any news relating to the company.

Ok i dontthink i can think of any other basic defintions, if i missed one let me know.

I am a member of two message boards and browse numerous other ones:

Quick thing, otcbbtrader.com is changing to MicrocapMarkets.com in June 2006, redo your bookmarks, if you save it.
