How do you get ''hired'' at an Autozone store? I am wondering because the hiring system seems a bit odd and VERY vague to me. First off, I have been talking to a friend of mine who actually works at Autozone and who was kinda giving me tips on how to actually go about getting the job... And what he told me was I need to talk to a STORE manager, and have them pull up my application on the computer in the store.
The issue I seem to be having with this is, at the store which i applied, they state that they dont have a ''store manager'', but they only have an assistant/parts manager. I've spoken to him twice now.

The first time, i asked him if they are hiring, and he told me that the applications are all done online and that the apps go to the distribution center. --->ORLYNOW?

The second time, i asked him if he could pull up my application in the store, as i was advised to ask by my friend who is working at an Autozone store..I was told again, that the apps dont go to the stores at all, and that they go to the distribution center. So I asked him, well how does anyone go about getting more information as to their status of being hired or not, like should i go to the distribution center in GA to talk to someone? (if they have one in GA that is..). He replied, "Yeah I know its kinda messed up" and then he proceeded to get on the phone as i left the store.

So for anyone that actually works there now...How did you manage to get hired by them??

That psm in completely wrong, the apps are sent to the store you selected not the distribution center. Your friend is right, store manager are the only ones that can pull up the app. You mite want to call another AutoZone, and talk to their store manager. they will be able to get your app from the first store and look it over.

The website will ask you to pick the store from a map based on where you live and it will give you the store number. when you fill out the app. and the test it will send the results to the district mgr. for that store. the store mgr. will have access to that app. within 3 days.
