    Default Is this justifiable?

looking at the news just now and came across this story about 3 guys spear fishing for yellowfin tuna but encountered a 12-foot tiger shark.
    here's the story

what are your thoughts on this?

i personally think, that with the situation, i would have done the same thing.

I would have killed it too....LOL people think if they were in his shoes they would just turn their back and leave. The shark wouldnt know wtf you were doing and would probably still attack you.

Look at this comment: "That is ridiculous the shark didn't even threaten him he just stayed in the sharks' territory too long. The shark saw him as a threat. The best thing to do would have been, if they SAW an AGGRESSIVE SHARK, would be to, I don't know, LEAVE. It was clearly not the sharks fault. People go in the water who have no idea what they're facing. Sheesh. People can be STUPID."

the person who posted that was stupid. i mean, yea they were in the water, and yea they were killing tuna, but that is what brought the shark in. it was the fish, not the people. the people just happened to be there trying to round up their kill, and wasn't too focused on the shark at first. but there isn't any footage of what was going on when the shark came. i mean, shit, if i see a shark and its acting agressive, i would started to back out, but if the beast comes at me, then its either me, or the shark, and it damn sure isn't gonna be me.

    Um, yeah........Who complained?

I would have killed the shark too, if I felt in danger. Now, would it be smart to hop in the water near sharks, FUCK NO! Either way, someone/something was getting fucked up that day. Luckily it wasn't a shiver of sharks.

Sidenote: Why do people feel inclined to go fucking with nature? Then, why do they get upset when they get mauled by wildlife? Do people really think that they can communicate with the animals and get them to see their side of the story?

    that is exactly what happened.

they were there going for other game, it just happen to have a much larger game, come into play.
if you read the story, they were going after yellowfin tuna. and they shark approached them. not the shark was there and they jumped in after it.

in som cases, its been known to swim with sharks and be just fine, but in this case, you got a hungry shark looking for food, i wouldn't advise trying to go for a ride. unless you like getting that ass chewed up.

If you want to stay alive, you have to do some killing to survive. It's all part of the nature

They eliminated the threat. Whats wrong with that? People eat sharks not just for the fin either.

What do they mean unjustifiable? If ur about to get murdered by a shark in WATER, wtf are u gonna do, let it? Of course its justified. However, the picture at the end is stupid with him holdin the tail fin and teeth wasnt needed.

i think it was from the point of which the shark had made its presence known, till the time of its death. and i think the guy was just holding onto the shark to prevent himself from getting in between the jaws of the shark.

but the pic where he was holding the fin and teeth. that was just too much. i would understand keeping the shark and having it mounted or something, but i wouldn't brag about it it though either.

I don't think it was too much of him to hold up the tail and jaws. Thats his trophy. How many people can say they fought a shark and survived?

but you got to think of how other people see it. they may think the shark was killed for no reason, since, the vid didn't show any signs of the shark really being aggressive. just it being around and what not. and no real evidence of the shark going after the divers though either. so the media and others are probably thinking, the shark was there, and the divers killed it cause it was close to them.
