Default It's dissapointing when Cash and Check raise the same level of suspicion

You tell someone cash is preferred but when customers bring cash it still raises an eyebrow. ie: Customer brought me a large amount of cash in an envelope 100 X $100

Another customer brought me an OFFICIAL CHECK from Wachovia and i still had to verify by calling the issuing bank.

I wish i could trust my customers as much as they trust me < only some people will feel me on that deep statement.

I understand what you mean... I will have a customer walk in with 8-10k sometimes, so they can pay their account of for a job they have going on. People look at them like they must be doing something illegal to be carrying that money into our store. But if they were to write a check for that amount, we have to call credit department and the bank to have it verified just to make sure it is in their account. But on the other hand, with the way the world is, I can understand verifying funds with a written check. But people automatically expect the worse when people bring a large amount of cash, even though that is what they ask for. It is sad to say, but it is hard to trust many people anymore... Especially, when it has to deal with money.

i dont deal with any large sums of $ like yall are referring to, but anytime i receive checks at my work it always raises an eyebrow. most of the time its just for some gas and coffee, but every once in awhile i see some red flags. ie-$30 gas, carton newports, purple/red drink, doughnuts, you get the picture, all on the same tab. "why cant you take my check?" "cause its not real."
usually looks to be printed from a computer. ink bleeds. etc.

im even seeing a larger number of counterfeit bills.

When I was back in high school working at a shoe store, every week this guy would come in to but shoes. He would pick out around 5-8 pairs. I would go get them and return to see him counting $100's on the bench, lol! I mean not 2 or 3, well over 20 $100 bills. He said, "I don't fuck with banks". Always paid cash, and tipped too!
