hmm, like one commenter said, how do child abuse laws have anything to do with black people in jail or special ed classes? displining your child and child abuse are very different things. She blames child abuse laws for the state of black youth, but child abuse laws apply to everyone in the country, not just blacks. She's placed most if not all of the blame of the problems of black America on someone else. Anytime someone challenges black America to make more of an effort to change their lives and stop placing all of the blame on society or white America, they are labeled as outcasts (bill cosby comes to mind).

i cannot speak up for black people because i don't know what it is like to be in their shoes, but their culture is different from white people. I have some friends who are black and their way of life is different from my own. I have taken sometime to look at the culture differences.

It is funny how America feels that the black culture should change to be ....I don't know....more American. They have a different way of life like other cultures. Alot of my friends won't and some will never except that. It is weird. And it doens't matter what topic there is somewhat of a difference.

I don't ever pretend to know what it's like to be in their shoes - I'm a firm believer of you're a product of your environment, and I believe this to be true in 90% of the cases. I doubt anyone would say that having a disproportionate amount of blacks below the poverty line and in trouble with the law is black culture - of course, many of them never had the chances you or I had, but at the same time, I believe they need to take responsibility for their own problems, instead of blaming everything on "the man" and have this "the world wants us to fail" attitude. This lady was wildly entertaining, but she blamed all of the problems of on child abuse laws and "the man" - cmon, these laws apply to everyone, and there is certainly a difference between punishing your child and abusing your child. Her way of thinking does nothing but holds back blacks from advancing in society. Btw, I actually am on the left idealogically, just don't agree with the implementation or method of some of the programs that's set up to help African Americans currently.

Yes, I could agree with this partcially. I would like to add she is not wrong on "some" of the things that she said even though she said it in a comical way. It seems to me there is more than what meets the eye. Who knows but them. I was just saying

Reply to my paragraph full of points and questions with an overused ahorism? Fair enough. Answer me this, and this is directed at what you said earlier - do you really believe that the alarming number of blacks in jail or below the poverty line or not graduating from high school or college is because of black culture? Do you believe that's black culture? You seem naive enough or maybe just lazy enough not to really look at the situation and say that their problems are due to cultural differences, so who's the ignorant one here?

If you could enlighten me, please tell me how American child abuse laws have somehow prevented ONLY black Americans from teaching their children wrong from right, therefore resulting in lack of education and criminal tendencies. I'm not trying to invalidate this forum, these participants, even this lady as a whole. I'm just trying to understand why on earth did she get this absurd idea that the problems that black Americans face today are all because of society trying to oppress them, namely, by having child abuse laws instated?

You are entitled, but you have to understand there are 3 stories to every situation. Their story, our story, and what is written. You can pull anything off the internet and say it is valid when it is only a state of opinion. You don't really know unless you are there. It is easy for me to say the same things you are saying only because I feel like people are their own person and YOU are the only one that holds yourself back. Maybe it is just me alone but I see somethings that they speak about. Some is not fair or a mental thing American society puts out but also there some black people who ride on the band wagon.

Im being in general with what she was talking about
child abuse laws.....I was told that the whole law start from a black woman disciplining her child in public.

Oh well no big deal. No one else is responding so it doesn't matter. Im going to work on my car. Im off today.

i do agree with most of what she is saying but 99% of what she is saying, that applies only to black people, REALLY applies to EVERYONE in this country.

Yudalicious said "She's placed most if not all of the blame of the problems of black America on someone else."

exactly. no one in this country is responsible for their own actions, its always someone else's fault.
