I worked there 2 years ago. It was good 2 years ago. Place is a shit hole that's about to go down and burn forever now. They fired everyone who had more then 4 years of experience there, and all they have now are a bunch of new people. Place is gonna go out of business pretty soon. But the pay there is better than Best Buy's and it was more relaxed too. Well that's how it was 2 years ago

FUCK GRAN TURISMO EAST!! NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR THERE, ESPECIALLY NOT FOR AN ALIGNMENT!! TERRIBLE BUSINESS!!

Lol, that sounds stupid. Why would they fire all of the people who had more than 4 years of experience. That's lame as hell...

they fired everyone who made over a certain amount for they're postion. (the institued a salray cap for each postion, except for installer) even the department managers were released. And he is right it is a shit hole now. I was an installer there 1.5 years ago, for 2 years. It was great when I started, then it went down hill. Honestly I don't think it's worth working there, but to each their own.

I worked there a year ago as an installer and it was fun. BUT they did fire everyone I used to work with because they made too much now there are two installers at the barrett location which is one of the busiest locations in the nation, how fucked up is that. g/l though.

Well, when you moved couldn't you just ask them to transfer you to one of the Texas QT's?

well I work there now and have for the past 2 years off and on...I was on a leave of absence when the shit hit the fan, but they fired some great people

and to correct the salary cap statements above...even installers were included in the salary cap because one of the most experienced installers i've met was fired for being above the cap.

The company is turning around as there are still experienced people there...they didn't just fire people because they were above the cap. They were offered salaries at the cap or offered different jobs if they had any sort of experience/time with the company...at that point, no matter how messed up it was, it was the employee's choice to leave.

Also, a lot of people lost their jobs due to the fact that the company simply cut their position all together. We had a brand new S&I manager @ the barrett parkway location who had worked there in various positions for a number of years, but he got fired after only a few months in that position because the sales and installation manager position was dropped entirely.

I'm in no way defending what they did because they dropped my ass back down to starting pay even though I was only on a leave of absence, but overall the company is more relaxed now and there is still good money to be made in certain positions, but in case you are looking for an installer job...the shop at barrett parkway is looking because all of us are leaving soon for better paying jobs lol
