    Post 1986 BMW E30 Build Thread

    Ok to start this off i bought the car as is like the pictures below it is a 1986 325i with and 350 bored .60 over and a 400 crank. which = 388 cubic inches

    build should put out 400+ hp

    here are the current mods

    *Eagle Crank
    *APR Bolts
    *Flat top Pistons-10.5:1 C/R
    *Vortec Heads 60's z28 Cam Profile w/ Roller Rockers
    *Modified Canton Oil Pan
    *GM Saginaw 4 Spd Close Ratio Xmsn Rebuilt not new
    *Hurst Super Shifter
    *Aluminum Radiator HUGE
    * Electric and Mechanical Fans
    *Sanderson Ceramic Headers
    *Polished Pro Comp Crosswind air gap Intake
    *Ball Milled Rocker Covers
    *Holley Carb, Vacuum Secondary
    *Accel HEI ignition
    *Custom Drive Shaft (made in ATL) Trans Tunnel and Hood Mods
    *Indestructible, Stock BMW Limited Slip Rear End
    *Eibach Springs
    *Lowering Struts not sure name brand
    *Ventilated Disc Brake Rotors
    *Stainless brake lines Braided
    *Wilwood Brake master Cylinder and Adjustable Proportioning valve
    *Flowmaster 50 series mufflers with Magnaflow X-pipe
    *17 inch non name wheels with spacers and longer bolts
    *Custom wiring harness Front to back
    *No powersteering-No power brakes-No A/C components at all
    *Power windows and Sunroof still work

    This is what it look like when i first bought her.













    Then i put in a new Speedo because the stock one was not operational : No Pictures

    The next modification i am proceeding to do is a complete paint job engine bay and all new hard brake lines and have the bay as much as i can of all the sealant they apply to the bay

    some pictures updating the engine bay clean up debating on painting it or having it powdercoated im thinking blue
























    body work all primed and just about ready for paint






    no more attenna hole yay@!








    more bay work! man, metal work takes forever





    dont need that tray any more!!!

    Have you done any paint work prior to this? Reason I ask, I'd love to get into painting my own stuff, but it's a fairly large investment for all the stuff.


    Did I understand you right? Did you say you were considering powdercoating the engine bay? Can they even do that?

    First, please change the wheels! As for the color, anything works on an e30. I literally have thousands of e30 & e30 M3 photos, there is no wrong color...only wrong wheels and suspension setups.

    please dont put those rims on it. If it were me I would put some sort of foose style muscle car rim on it or something similar.

    I keep telling him to go with Borbets, BBS, SSR, and so forth. But nope, its always XXR's, Diamond racing, or Rotas....

    So what color did you decide? Just curious, but why not pull most of the trim/lock cylinders that's being taped up? The quarter glasses are pulled, front end taken apart, all the lights, etc, you may as well!

    pure white white is what i chose as a color and because eh to much more work im ready to put it back together and for the money ive spent so far and what i am going to use it for it will be nice enough for me!!
