    Default "QD's build thread...PICS PAGE 7, 10, 11, 14, 18 and 19...

At the request of another member (Puregroove), I shall put all updates in one easy to read and follow thread. So you can see where the car came from and where it goes. Here we go.

In September of 2006, I saw the car in the back of a shop in Conyers and purchased it for $100. It had the factory CVCC 1500/5 speed drivetrain in it. I spent a considerable amount of money to get it roadworthy. Complete Honda tuneup, all new tires, new brakes and a slew of other items. The car had been sitting for a year. but it ran great. For a week. Lolol. Engine blew and back to the shop again. There it sat until February of 2008 (I had more pressing financial issues at the time). The pics go in chronological order.

These pics are of the car when I first bought it and it was still at the shop. The last pic is when I brought it home and promptly lowered it.

The next three are s of the parts I got to get it running and to upgrade. First is the 1.8L Honda Accord engine to replace the blown 1.5L. Then I acquired the Deluxe gauge set that allowed me to have a tach and separate fuel/temp gauges.

This series is when I brought the car home with newly installed engine and after I got the car's ride height where I wanted it.

I got the Deluxe Gauges installed.

    OLD

    NEW!!

Just got my luggage rack in the mail yesterday and it is now put on.

Got my mirrors in the mail on August 16 and quickly put them on for the Old School Japanese Import Meet.

The mailman brought all the emblems I need and my stock AM/FM radio. Happy now. Again. Lolol.

Yessir. Picked up the ole center console today.

More new shit. I've looked everywhere for these. Or so I thought. Found them, brand new, over on Moreland. Yessir...

    Later, QD.

This is a "restore" thread. Not a "it's done" thread. No one said it was perfect. Later, QD.

$100? Man what a deal. I paid $700 for mine but drove it the same day. We both have some work ahead of us that's for sure.

I put mine on the back burner so I could finish up the N600 and the 74 Celica. Once I get them done I will get started on the Civic.

    Looking good!

I could have diven mine same day, but like I said, it had been sitting for about a year. So that's why went ahead and put all new shiit on it. Lolol.

And yes. Work is to be had. Do you want a set of the Deluxe gauges for yours? Later, QD.

Look at the last set of pics of the dash in my car. Do you have a set of gauges right in the center of the dash? Or do you have a tach? The price? I'm not sure. I can find out immediately.

Two more items for the outside and I'll be done with it; besides it getting repainted (next February). Also, just scored the original Panasonic AM/FM radio. How I'm handling the stereo is pretty simple. I have a compact size Sirius system. All I need to run it is an FM signal. I hook the antennae to the FM modulator and then the modulator into the radio and I've eliminated the FM signal. I just listen to the satellite. That way the radio still powers on (and works), I have no gaudy after market system in the car and don't have to worry about putting a CD player or anything hidden in the car. It all looks original. Later, QD.

Thanks. The paint is worse than it looks, but it is in good shape, considering. I already have my quote of $1100 to fix all the rust, fill holes and repaint it. Later, QD.

    ^^^ Thanks.

I have updated on two new pieces that should be arriving in the mail between today and a week or so from now.

A set of fender mirrors and, WHAT!!!, did he do it?!?!?! The (original) JDM roof rack? Nope. Not a roof rack, but a luggage rack. The factory option piece.

Pics on first thread. Later, QD.
