Default Timing Belt and engine work on Civic

I am looking for a shop or someone that can change my timing belt and give me a tune-up. I have 150K on my civic and I really need to change the belt on it. If anyone knows someone please let me know.

    Thanks.

Mainstream performance would be glad to do it I'm sure. They are about the most reasonable as well for that type of stuff. They do regular maintenance such as timing belt/water pump as well as build fast cars. BTW, you mention doing a timing belt but do not under any circumstances do a timing belt and not a water pump. Even if you go somewhere else, plan to do both at the same time.

Oh yea I forgot about the pump. Do you know how much it would cost? Honda is like $500. I do not want to pay that much. Is $500 about the price of a timing belt and water pump?

It should be less. I can't speak for Mainstream's price on the work but I would imagine it would be at least $100 less than Honda. Just a guess so don't hold me to it. Contact MR.KIDD on here or call Mainstream @ 678-567-9384 Don't be disapointed if no one answers the phone b/c they are usually busy and rarely answer. Leave a message and number and what you want and they will get back to you.

I don't know if these prices are still good as this was an older thread for Acura/Honda maintenance specials. http://forums.importatlanta.com/showthread.php?t=39097

It was $375 for timing belt/water pump on a B series engine. Like I say that thread is a bit dated, however, I would imagine it will still be pretty close. Probably a little less if you have a D series.

MAINSTREAM BY FAR HAS THE BEST PRICES ON THE SERVICE. I DO KNOW ANOTHER SHOP I CAN REFER YOU TO BUT ITS PROBABLY ACTUALLY FARTHER OUT PLUS I WOULD STILL THINK MS WOULD BE A LITTLE EASIER ON THE WALLET AND PROLLY HAVE YOU IN AND OUT IN A DAY IF THEY ARENT SLAMMED(WHICH IS A HIGH POSSIBILITY)

shouldn't be more that $500 at the most. They sell whole kits on ebay that come with most seals around the timing belt/water pump area too. Its good insurance. You could have a second hand mechanic do it for you, but imo i wouldn't trust them unless they're pretty damn experienced with those jobs. If you don't know, Honda engines are non-interference, meaning you're :idb: if the belt breaks.

interference or non-interference?? i thought interference meant valves and pistons could hit each other if belt snapped and non inter meant something else entirely
