how do u like to let your car warm up?
do u feel it is better to let it get to running temp before driving?
i dont let it get to full runnign temp, but i let it get to a steady idle,
id say i average around 2-3 minutes.
yes jsut for inital "idle high" to stop
to full running temp
no, its fine i start up and go
warm up for approx 1 min.

I need a new project
I crank my car every morning then go back inside, and dont drive it until it reaches full operating temp. And if im forced to drive it cold for some reason, I stay completely out of boost. But my car thanks me for it, I mean look at how shes smiling in my avatar![]()
I do the same thing for my wagon George...Originally Posted by Mr. Nemesis

yep i wake up brush my teeth, shower than hit the remote start while gettting dressed 5 mins or so
i wait until the high idle goes away, but if im in a real hurry i drive it but i dont go over 3k rpm until its warm. with the 240sx though i have to wait like 5 min or it will run like shit. bad coolant temp sensor, common on ca18s...
Every morning i let her warm up all the way, but after school, i get out to my car and go, but it nromally warms up in school traffic, lol
Lexus GS300
I hope in and go. I keep it under 3k until I reach "normal" temp. But I do let it sit if I run it hard ad then need to park it.
I'll normally let it idle for 30 secs or so before driving off and then I'll keep it under 3000 and out of boost until its warm.
I've always heard that its worse to let an engine idle up to its complete operating temp since the oil pressure is very low at idle.

10 min. for me cause i mean the oil has to circulate so less scaring on drivetrain parts

i let it warm up when my windshield is frozen or if it is real cold outside nothing sucks more then getting in your car and having no heat for 5 minutes
"I remember the first time I had sex – I kept the receipt."
I will if I have the time before work. I do notice that my car does run a lot worse if I dont let it warm up a bit. I mostly notice it when I shift gears when its cold. Its really rough, but once its a little warm then its smooths out.
i let my sit for about 15 minutes
remote start ftw.... crank it let it run for about ten minutes then ride out.... then let it idle for 3 minutes before shutting it down.....when i can...
cold start, bang off the rev limiter till it reaches the H

I usually get in the car and let it run for a minute or two while I'm getting all my stuff situated and playing around with what CD to listen to. After that I keep it under 3k rpm for five minutes or until the heat is working well. Then I take it anywhere in the rpm range I want. You really have to take it up high in the rpm range to get it to accelerate quickly.
I usually wait for running temp, but if I can't, I try to keep it under 3k.
I drive easy for about the first 3-5 mins so the metal gets nice and warm, then I might give it a litlle gas after that. I usually always try to avoid redlining until it has been driven for at least 5 minutes.
ok i have a question about this. my car will warm up like normal. then when i strat to drive the temp will drop. it only does it on cold days and i have the ac removed so the condenser is out of the way. when i say the temp drops it drops it will get all the way to cold. is it bad for the car since the motor is cold?

I try to let it warm up when I can. I like listening to it idle, so I just get my music setup and shit, then it's time to go.
