That engine was offered in more models other than the 90-93 accord. It was offered in later SiR models and was made all the way to 2000. The 1996-2000 models are OBDII. It had 200hp and was 1997cc, not 1955.

^^It comes out of an accord in japan. Its a powerful motor. Lots of tq and hp in a 2 liter. HMM i dont know I still think a h22 is better. F20 is similar to a destroked h22!

U have a point, but why people always overlook this motor? People rarely talk about the f20b

because most of the time people will just use a H22A instead of the F20B. Price wise, the F20B is only a few hundred less than a H22A. Also most people dont know vtec from v-tech (cordless phones) and think the "h22" is the coolest shit to hit the face of the planet. The later model F20B's have the same head as the jdm H22A type S engine, and also have steel sleeves instead of FRM, which means it can be bored easier. IMO it is just as good of an engine as the H22A. I had a H22A type S engine in my old prelude and it ran hard as hell, which i believe was to do with the different head. The slightly higher compression of the type S engine probably helped a little, but I think the big gain was from the head. BOOSTED LUDE on here has a F20B in his prelude that he is selling or has sold recently (not sure if he still has it). He will know first hand the difference between the usdm h22a and the jdm F20B, since he has had both.

it is exactly a destroked H22A. the block may say "F" but it is identical to the "H" blocks. It is reinforced like the H22A.

^^ Thanks for the info. Yeah I really dont hear much about the motor. I guess I did what everybody else did and got jdm h22a, but at least mine is in a 92cord!! F20 sounds like a real good motor. Head just like a h22 with steel sleeves!? U cant ask for more!! Im tryin to buy a h22 block from BOOSTED LUDE right now!

ok i researched it some more. the 97-02 accord sir model featured a 180hp version of the F20B, and had a s-matic transmission (auto). The SiR-T featured a 5 speed manual trans with LSD and had 200hp. The s-matic could not handle the extra power so the auto engines had a different ecu. both are mechanically the same.
here are a few links of the specs and different models.

There is nothing wrong with buying a motor from ebay, i got mine from ebay and it been running strong since 03, with not problems. F20B's are good for all motor, bc there high reving motor but not boost friendly. If you want boost look into a h22a but make sure you get it tuned and i wouldnt go any higher than 10psi. Also there is there is the H22a type-S motor and H23vtec 98-02 accord sir and accord wagon motors. about 220hp, 215tq. If you want some more info on accord in general check out accordingly done .com everything you want know about accords can be found here.

I would get the f22b for the extra cam! Unless your talking about the usdm sohc vtec! Thats the f22b1 or b2!get the jdm one! Also when u change the timing belt on that motor u have to use one off a integra gsr! Crazy shit isnt it!
