Buy a sawzall and do it yourself. I did it with my old 240 and it turned out great. Let me find the pictures.....oh wait...they're in the file under THAT IS THE BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME EVER.

Buy a convertable 240 if you dont want a top. Dont ruin one that someone else could do better.

there are a few shops around that are willing to do it, but it will cost you as much as your car did or more. it also makes the car so amazingly weak it is rediculious. my advice is much like the other advice you will get, dont do it.

I don't know why everyone is telling you not to.

They're just jealous because you have a great idea to be original and different. Wait....you have a 240? Oh...well atleast you're trying to be original and different....you have a 240?

    Oh....buy a MR2..or a trans am or something.

Get ready to add about 300+pounds of bracing to get the chassis as stiff as it is now. If you hack the top out w/o bracing you will have the illest handling weakest chassis around. Can you say chassis flex?

Man you can do it regardless of what the haters say. Back in my mini trucking days just about every truck had either a targa top or completely removable hardtops. I would expect to spend a lot of money through somebody like UAB, but I would look around the mini truck scene and check out some of the work done to them by other shops or individuals that do it on the side. Just my $.02

Wow this car would just get worse and worse.

A bone stock 240 with a targa ghetto cut in the roof and then a rool cage for no other reason than to keep the car together.

    That is hoodrich right there.

i would suggest T-tops before targa.... the only reason is because when you go targa you lose TONS of stiffness that the hardtop provides.... if you were to go targa you would have to put a FULL roll cage in just to keep the car from splitting in half....

And these FWD cars would bust the ass of your RWD ugly ass piece of shit 240.

Yea I was on the sidelines. I'd look over and see you while you watched your car get drifted. Then you'd get in it and spin out around every turn.

I'd have rather been on the sidelines. Drifting isn't my cup of tea. I owned a s13, way cleaner then your ride. Sold it tho.

it's the newer model g20, which most people wont buy and tear the motor out to put a turbo motor into it. Most people that mod g20's do the p10 which is like the poor man's g20.

not a bluebird, and I have no fucking clue what a top mount motor is. Must be a mazda thing, but nissan's motors are mounted on the front of the car and not the top.

Bluebirds and pulsars had top mounted intercoolers.

The avenir had a sidemount, thats the motor Jay has.

It is a version of the sr20, comes with a sidemount intercooler and a different type of t25. It is a newer motor.

Nothing wrong with 68 posts. It means I have something else to do. Go wrench on your car instead of posting and youll have something to show for it.

My car is pretty common. I see alot of 99-02 g20s turbo with 5 speeds.

What I dont see is is too many proteges.....running.

Chill out, I was just offering my advice which is dont ruin the car.

is your quote on the bottom of your sig, trying to make fun of me...or about how you said top mount motor instead of top mount intercooler, cause I think those are two different things.

You did forget the key word in that phrase which would be intercooler.

By saying a top mount motor you aren't implying an intercooler. A lot of things are mounted on top.

When you say "top mount motor" the 1st thing I think of is a motor that is mounted on top. Since well that is what you said.

Now if you said a front mounted motor, I'd still think a motor mounted up front.

You see what I'm saying? Just because you are talking about where the intercooler goes doesn't mean that it can't be mistaken for something else, especially when your post didn't make sense. And then the fact you thought you could try and make fun of something because they called you out on it is just funny to me.
