    Default headgasket ?

    can you re-use a cometic headgasket..... it has 7 miles on it and im pulling the head. can i re-use it.... setup is a turbo d16

    Don't reuse it. Not worth the risk.

    May ask what happened that caused the head to come off?

    upgrading from a stock d16z6 head.....





    to a d16z6 head w/ a "little" bit larger ports plus some new head parts.....

    Isn't that one of cometics claim to fame? I believe they say 5 times or something like that.

    I've reused one on a turbo LS1 with copper gasket spray and didn't have any problems.

    Once a head gasket has been compressed, I wouldn't reused it. They are fairly cheap, be safe and buy a new one. I always use Oem Honda head gaskets, I have heard mix things on Cometic. Just my .

    Cometic does claim that they can be reused, but I agree with the above posts, it's probably not worth the $80 bucks or so you'll be saving.

    nah mine is a full table. my girls mom got it for us a while back, only time we use it is when i put parts on it, seriously........... lol

    I think I could do a better port & polish job with some sandpaper and a tooth brush, but cool lawn mower engine you have there.

    yes you will be fine using it.... use some copper spray
