    Default Towing advice

Can't really find a place for this so if it needs to be moved then please do so.

I have an 05 F-150 4x4. Truck has the heavy duty towing package and rated to tow 9500lbs. I am wanting to install a hidden wheel lift on the truck. I would also install helper air bags on the rear axle. I only tow small FWD cars such as civics, accords, neons, escorts etc. Basically I feel this will be fine with a little common since but want some other opinions on this.

This is the type of lift I am looking at.

seem like a lot of money to tow a few cars the 3500$ is not worth it imo. Unless your working for a repo company. I would just by a tow dolly I love mine.

Its not a few, its 2-3 a week if not more. And a tow dolly is just a pain in the ass. I used to have an old school ramp truck and loved being able to just hook up and go. Anyways, not really what I need advice on.

You asked for help and he offered. If you don't like what you hear, don't ask. Later, QD.

See, the thing is I asked about a certain subject for a reason. Maybe I am sick and tired of fucking with a tow dolly. When you tow 8-14 cars a month a tow dolly is just a pain and I'm looking for a better solution using the truck I have.

Maybe silversol doesn't know you well enough to know this. That's why he gave his advice. No need, at all, for you to respond with that. At least he posted. It's not like this thread has "blown up." Later, QD.

Sounds like a waste of $$ IMO also and that truck is clean even if it is a long bed don't ruin it. Also im not sure but don't you have to have a special insurance to do towing ?
I mean what if you fuck a car up or lose it you need something to cover you and property.

Buy a used tow truck - its worth it. Open a LLC, and have everything in its name. Its just for your safety from lawsuit in case you did lose a car.
Not sure if what you are planning to tow, but you might be interested: http://www.psc.state.ga.us/transport...eneralinfo.asp

Does seem like a lot of money.
Plus, is this really something you want, basically, permenantly mounted to your truck?
I mean, if this truck will be solely dedicated to just being a tow vehichle and you can afford it, go for it.
Only you REALLY know if it's right for you AND worth the expense.
Either way, good luck. Get that money!

This here I disagree with solely because this involves financial matters that he may not have much experience or knowledge in. Now once he gets his information that he needs to make his decision, THEN it will only be for him to decide. This isn't him asking for advice on a girl he likes and whether or not he should pursue her. You dig? Later, QD.
