    Default Spacer/Hub Question...

I have some new wheels for the MR2 and the hubs are different, is it safe just to run a small spacer instead of having the wheel bored out?

It sounds like what you are saying is the center bore on the new wheel is too small to fit over the hub on your car, thus meaning they don't fit right. A spacer would not help this at all, it would actually make it worse unless you bought a two piece spacer that is hub centric to the car and wheel centric to the wheel. More than likely they would have to be custom made, but if you are going to use a spacer anyways then it may be the route to go. If you are not planning on using spacers then it would be easier to get them bored out and cheaper as well.

But wouldn't a spacer make the wheel not touching the hub anyway and the space touching flat?

I get spacers for free so that's not a concern and have bored wheels out before it's just a total PITA.

Ah, you are referring to traditional spacers. I thought you were getting the spacers that are still hubcentric. Even with that it would only work if the spacer being used is thicker than the mounting point for the wheel on the hub.
