It's not low coolant. I filled it up again to make sure. But it didn't over heat since then and when I did the overflow was empty

No I worded that wrong lol not electronicaly controlled. I wasn't paying attention when I typed that. I meant to ask if the positive charge could cause this since it was alittle loose. I read somewhere that a guy had a neg connection problem and that caused this.

again wtf is a terminal charge. where the fuck are you getting these terms? please stop making terms up. now if you have a bad ground that might make sense but then again i dont know much about the problems those cars have. but if you having doubts about your Terminal Connections. then maybe you should clean them.

So is it overheating? 9 out of 10 if the top hose is hot and the lower hose is cold the thermostat is stuck closed if its overheating or stuck open if the car is not getting up to normal operating temperature. Easy fix and $12 part and its not elecotronically controlled lol

That was the problem when mine did that, bad thermostat. Head gasket is a little different than that.

it has done both. one day it got very hot. the next the bottom hose was cold. I changed the T stat today. maybe that will fix it. Ill post up tomorrow if it did. I tried to check the old one and put it in some water on the stove and it didn't open till the water was boiling or right about too and it opened really slow.

The bottom rad hose is still cold is the problem, even after it running for a pretty long time. Since I changed the t stat it hasn't got hot. Stays right In the same place once warmed up. So why is the bottom hose still cold?

If you changed out the thermostat and it is no longer over heating then I dont see what the problem is... I wouldnt worry to much about the hose not warming up, unless its causing the car to over heat... But from what I have seen, the bottom hose not heating up means its the water pump... It could just be the weather oustide helping the car to remain cool. Wait until warmer weather and see what happens then...

I doubt its the weather because the top gets warm the bottom doesn't change. It stays pretty cold. Ice cold really, I guess it would be the water pump. How hard are they to change?

if its not overheating then you dont have a problem.. just drive it. the bottom hose i hope isnt hot or warm or else that radiator isnt doing what its suppose to do... you know lower the coolant temps... duh.... if you changed the t-stat and its not over heating you found your problem. stop trying to over diagnos a problem when you fixed it already. geez. and yes it probably the weather keeping the lower colder than normal... seeing the temps arent really above 40 for very long.

well yea but he already changed that lol...

I say ride it until it starts to overheat again... keep an eye on the coolant and the oil just to make sure you dont have a head gasket problem. Which could lead to something worse.. Other wise I would say youre alright....

ps changing out the water pump, if its your first time can be a pita. But definately do-able, with a few hours to spare and some company cause working on your car alone in the cold just plain sucks .lol...GL
