What you think will get popular in the great 2010..
my guess:
the fitment craze will cap...
crazyness non matching colors will go away
bigger wheel sizes
Diamond Racing wheel popularity will cap..

I think that we are slowly creeping back into "ricey" cars. I think there will be more crazy colors and "originality" bullshit.
yeah it sucks to see a nice car ruined with permanent marker. I'm not into the whole jdm craze but i hate the people that decide that they don't want to look like every other car so they put stickers all over their lips or draw all over their shit. Were going to see more of that kind of stuff since people can't afford to get real custom paint jobs. when the economy comes back clean cars will come back.
mine stays more or less same- i finish my model a- people see how bad ass it is and new trend is started.
95 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon Limited
I predict software for twin turbo SUV's will gain popularity and people will be enamored when software only X5's and Cayenne's turbo's are trapping 120 as they are doing 112 stock
I also predict cheap BMW's will continue to grow in the street seen as the amount of Turbo E36's has been getting absurd in the last year. I can think of 5 more that are now roaming around in the last 3-4 months
-I also predict track popularity will grow as people are learning how to actually get to a road course
-Honda's will still fart like there's no tomorrow, and cleaner, faster one's will also be showing up more and more
-Classic cars will become MUCH more trendy as cash for clunkers killed lots of them, making harder to find older cars way cooler to have.
Alabama's inconsistency will make the Texas AB game very interesting to watch (is this in 10' haha??)
Cash for clunkers did not kill anything that could be referred to as "classic". The cutoff year was 1982, they didn't take anything made before that. Maybe they got some '80's Monte Carlos, Caprices, and Crown Vics off the roads... but those vehicles are like cockroaches anyway. For every one you see theres 40 more you don't and they also carry disease.
My predictions for 2010:
1.) More "hellaflush" poke and stretch. The coolest thing on the street will be putting a 165 tire onto a 10" wide wheel.
2.) More crappy boat trailer wheels (Diamond Racing). More fake rat rod primer/flat black/rust paint jobs. More cars looking like they were built from parts found in the dumpster behind Tractor Supply.
3.) Probably another F&F movie. Brian and Dom go undercover in Atlanta to investigate the violence at the Pleasant Hill BP and Riverside Sonic meets. Expect to see lots of Civics, 240's and hard parking.
I agree with this 100%. Also with the rusted hoods. You can't fake patina.
Which doesn't mean you can't have nostalgia with the 80's/90's cars. I don't see why there aren't more "period correct" projects. "JDM" wasn't cool when the '89 Civic was new. You guys know how people modded these cars back then?

rice will be cool/
- people becoming more open-minded to others taste
- more uncommon cars being modified
more budget builds, less v.i.p., rice makes a come back soon. the economy will make ppl look to older cars...older means late 90's early 2000's, there are tons of options for those cars, with in the next few years we will be back to rice. its too expensive to keep up with 800whp hondas and lexus' with crazy stance/fitment....wont be long and a civic with a kit will be fire again.
as they get older you will def see more.....but vip will last about as long as anyother craze....couple years and its gone...and by gone i mean not popular..im sure vip has been around for a while but has just recently become popular...just like drifting, body kits, jdm, you name it....they all have their time in the spotlight then fizzle out and become a joke on a car forum.
because they are affordable now...they get older they get cheaper...i remember in high school (98'-01') i would have killed for a gsr...but at ~$10k it wasnt gonna happen...i bought one last year for $2400....your dreams can be reality with time. like i said above any fad will always be around...but its not gonna be popular forever. when it becomes as common as flat black slips its not cool anymore and that ruins the alure of it.
i see your point... but True Vip hasnt hit the US yet. Its just started.. there is a big misconception of vip is just wheels/drop/tint. its always been expensive exclusive, and original. Ill say Vip style has changed within the year. Form looking at pictures from shows and meets from japan. it has gone to more colors, and away from the typical white, and black. But i thin the real reason is the vip crowd is alot younger.
VIP will never die, best DD in my opinion. I would like to see more new Civics modded and more Acura's. Lexus is just gonna keep growing and growing. I'm gonna go on a limb and say that the automotive industry is looking very promising for 2010 and that the "scene" (as much as I hate calling it that) will grow like crazy.
I think any car that is well-modded and done right looks good. Regardless of what "type" or "style" it is.
FIAT will become the new Civic in the united states in popularity.
I think there is going to be more VIP stuff.... unfortunately.

I am making my personal goal for 2010 to bring love for the oversized pushrod motors to all of Fayette and Coweta county. These little piss-ass motors with under 700 ft/lbs of torque are ruining generations of man-rights everywhere.
I am making it my goal to speed up global warming one 41 gallon fillup at a time. There is not much I can do to stop the EMO-jean thing, but there is something I can do about cold winters.![]()

Blue dot taiilights and baby moons.
Biggest trend of 2010 will be to put the LSX motor swaps. They will be more common and done to more platforms.
LS VTEC swaps will be bigger
Have you heard of the guy who rolls and pulls fenders in Atlanta? YEAH, I'M THAT GUY! Hit me up!https://www.facebook.com/VipFenderRolling
i see more lsx swaps, more people concentrating on pure performance modification (actual competitive legal racing), but also much more hard parking
