Set it around 500rpms above where you make peak torque for starters. Then adjust according to bog - grip - vehicle weight - gear ratio etc. or leave it off like me and learn how to drive.

Where would it need to be for the track? at the peak of the torque curve as mentioned before, or somewhere else on the powerband??

^^ depends on the tire - tire pressure - vehicle weight - rear spring - etc.

It's not just a "magic" rpm. Any1 who tells you different is a dork. Trial and error my friend.

I wouldnt even get launch control set at ONE point.. If you are worried about it that much save for a program were YOU could change it whenever you want according to conditions...

As stated before your 3k launch WILL suffic at the track.. or if you have DR it will also suffer...just different variables in the "correct" launch

IMO just dont get it.. and LEARN how to launch your car in your different situations...

But considering this is the FI section, Im assuming hes boosted.lol

Launch control allows you to build up a few pounds of boost before you actually launch, which you cant really effectively do without 2-step.

^^^ If you can control the throttle w/ your foot (it's called driving) then you can launch a boosted car on the street on a few pounds. Don't spread misinformation.

Furthermore... the 2-step just allows for measureable (repeatable) consistency at the track. Road conditions vary too much to use a 2 step on the street effectively. Even the aspahalt make-up from road to road changes.

Like it's been said - learn to drive the car and you won't have to worry about a 2-step on the street.

    No one is spreading misinformation.

If you have a boosted car and youre about to launch it from a standing position, you can hold the throttle at a steady 4k, but you wouldnt build boost like you would if it was being held at 4K with 2 step. Thats all Im saying.

And yea, to get around this, you could just launch at a higher rpm to make up for the lack of boost when launching. Or you could also give it wot and start to launch whenever you reach the rpm/boost level which the conditions call for.

But either way, 2 step is the most effecient way to launch a boosted car IMO.

if it's tuned on the gold software then you can have it set for wot launch rpm, or if you need to launch at a higher rpm (such as changing to dr or slicks) then you can feather the gas to launch at a higher rpm. it won't have the anti-lag/boost build while feathering, but it can always be changed.

you should still be able to run the obd2 dizzy and not need a dizzy conversion. just get the obd2-1 ecu conversion harness from www.boomslang.us

you can typically do all the tuning on the same map unless you want 2 different tunes for pure pump gas and pure race gas. if you're running a profec b spec2 or other ebc i'll tune it on wastegate, lo boost the highest we see fit for pump gas and then highboost reserved for a race gas 20+psi tune if you want to go that route. if you're not going to go that route then high boost the highest on pump and then lo boost somewhere between wastegate and hi boost. typically on same chip.
