Default Boost on a high mileage engine?

Well i have a 95 LS with 177K miles. I want to boost it, but would i just be wasting money since the mileage is so high? Not looking to do anything crazy, just low 200hp range. Any help is appreciated

Honda 177k Turbo for only 200whp = Weak.
    Toyota 215k Turbo 700whp+ = Honda's God.

like dude said above run the test and then if your level across the board. throw 7lbs on it and you should be fine as long as you don't drive like a tard every time u jump in it.
I check sluts off my list like a maintnence man
I drive a low is3 just so it gives me a reason to drive super slow on these rough ga roads.

    143k miles and going...been boosted since 62.5k.

just tuned one that had 180k on it a couple weeks ago.

tuned one w/ 225k and it ran for over a year.

if the engine seems healthy do it. the worse thing that'll happen is you'll have to replace/rebuild the engine and you'll already have your turbokit ready.

does it matter if its a D16Y7 non-vtec or a D16Y8 vtec, is one stronger than the other...compression= 9.4:1 for the Y7.......9.6:1 for the Y8

they are about the same in terms of strength, but the y8 uses a lot of knock feedback stock b/c of the vtec head and timing scheme. the d-series vtec don't add a lot of extra power stock or basic boosted builds. i prefer the y7 over the y8 (i like to keep it as simple as possible), but if someone has a y8 and it's tuned it can last a good while too.
