Question Rim Recommendations - Mazda RX-7

    Hey guys.

I'm running some 18X8 HP Racing Evo rims right now, but I am having wide-body fenders installed over at Lethal, and I was thinking maybe I should bump it up to 19" and go for the tucked/flush kinda look. Nothing ridiculous. I don't like small tires being stretched or anything...

I'd still like to have a 245/255 fitment in the front, and a 285/295 width in the rear.

Whether 18" or 19", could y'all make some recommendations for me?

    Here's my car now:

Here's 2 pictures of what the fenders should look like after being installed.

    Taken from Shine Auto's web-site.

Wheel Style/Features: Work Rezax II w/burning black finish on the center discs
    Wheel Size/Width/Offsets: (Front) 18 X 10 +34 with high disc (Rear) 18 X 11 +33 with deep disc

For 18's, I would want to go 245 or 255/35/18 in the front, and 295/30/18 in the rear.

Here are some more pictures of Shine's web-site that show their complete Burnout body kit, with 19's on it:

    Wheel Style/Features: SSR Professor 1's.
Wheel Size/Width/Offsets: (Front) 19x10 inch (Rear) 19x9 inch

So this picture has me thinking...19's with some 25 series fronts and 20 series rear tires would look pretty sick though. 245/25/19 and 295/20/19, yeah?

    What do y'all think?

Black center/polished lip? All chrome or polished? Gold/polished lip?

    Help!

The 19" Professors would look phenomenal, and I've always been a sucker for gold on white, especially on the FD chassis. Its always just kinda worked for me somehow. I'd say 19s in gold/polished.

im also kinda curious about your previous experience with shine, if you have any. I'm thinking of picking up some of their aero, since I'll eventually want to track my car and if i were to break the real equivalent of their replica pieces I'd probably cry. Have you had past experience with them? Service, fitment, etc? Obviously their S2000 pieces might have different issues altogether than their RX-7 stuff, but still. PM me if youd like.

On FD's I kinda like no lip wheels

Unless it's widebodied like you're having done ...

I think the 19s might be a touch too big. Remember, it's a sports car/grand tourer, make it look like it is functional on a track as well. You don't see too many race cars on ultra low profile tires, and I've always seen the FD as a weekend racer and mild exotic for the street. That's just my opinion though. I'm sure whatever direction you go with it will look nice though. 245 & 295 combo will be sick for grip.

Oh I'm also digging Gold w/ polished lip on a white car, or all gunmetal looks really good like the RZ 7s.

^^ Yeah, I drew a frame of a man running on each fan blade. That is him running at idle

I used the LE28Ns on my FD. 18x8.5 up front, 18x9.5 in back.

For a widebody, you will probably want to go to 11 or 12 inches wide out back. Blitz Technospeeds are available in that size. I know of a widebody FD here that has them.

wide body without hella flush wheels = fail

which ever wheels you choose you are going to need aleast a 10" wide rear wheel.

From these pics it seems your skirts and rear bumper sills are not very closely colormatched

I'm partial to the wheels since they're on my car, but I really like 5zigens on FDs. Not too heavy, not too expensive, and sexy 5 spoke.

I like something mesh on FDs in 18s. BBS LMs are always a great bet. Even the wheels you have wouldn't be bad, just add something wider in the rear for an aggressive look.
