    Default Head Gasket for ls/vtec turbo

    any ideas? I've already went through 2 cometic head gaskets and they arnt worth a shit

    awesome ill prob go with the oem gasket...what about the arp head studs what do you guys torque them down to?

    yeah true but so was the cometic and it blew twice on low boost

    OEM, can't beat it. 70 ft/lbs on the arp'z, you can quote me on that.

    a lot of people don't know that Golden Eagle and OEM are the EXACT SAME THING and GE will tell you that. GE just takes the OEM one and bores it for larger engines like an 85mm engine, or a 84.5mm engine.

    As for cometic, I suffered a number of failures with them on a few cars I've worked on. Contrary to what the advertise, they don't really hold up too well. I've seen pretty good results on stock headgaskets on boosted Hondas.

    yeah i just went with the oem im going to put it back together today and i couldnt remember the torque specs on the studs so i appreciate it
