Any time you build an engine you should get new bearings and measure clearances. Also, make sure you take it to a machine shop and have the whole bottom-end balanced. As far as the half-shaft, I have only heard of that with CV axles and such. Unless, they mean that the crank only has counterweights on half of its sides (top and bottom) not front and back like V type engines.Originally Posted by jonathanjone
