    Default 302 HO build

I am building a mild 1984 302 HO and it needs a full rebuild..

could anyone help me out with a nice build parts list?

and places to get it moderately cheap.. i know cheap isnt good but just not outrageously expensive.

i have a 302 ho block, heads, crank, rods, pistons, cam, valve train, but it has been sitting 5 years and is frozen up so it will need a complete rebuild..

help will be repped to the fullest!!

GT40P heads ftw. Are you wanting to swap it over to fuel injected or keep it carbed?

as far as parts, Summit Racing in McDonough is your one stop shop for that. They have helped me SO much lol.

Fuck stance. Stance is for kids in skinny jeans with Justin Beiber haircuts. You don't need stance when you got swagger.

A lot of foxbodys end up with crate engines in them is what I've heard. I pulled a fuel injected 5.0 out of an 87 GT... according to a few people I've talked to, that engine doesn't belong in that car... in 87 they were still carbed. I don't know a lot about mustangs, but I do know that crate swaps/new swaps are pretty commonly done in them. Check out www.mustangforums.com for a bunch of really helpful peeps in the mustang scene.

1985 is the last year a carburetor offered on the 302 i belive. as far as a cheap reliable build on a 302 check mustang specific forums as Phantom said and more specifically check the for sale section. many good deals can be found. Patirot Performance heads are a good deal and for a little more you can take them to a local machine shop to have a decent multi-angle valve job performed.

what are your goals for the engine as far as power, rpm range, and overall use for the engine(towing, daily driver, performance...ect)

Scott Milner @ Coupe Performance in Conyers is who you want. His work is second to none and he will not rape you on price. If its Ford related, he is your man. 678-409-4685.

He can use your block, crank, and possibly the rods.

Depending on the budget of your build it's hard to beat a set of ported E7's (87 or later GT heads), E303 cam, 1.6RR's, and a good intake and carb. That will make for a good running car, and far from break the bank. This setup has been a proven setup in the foxbody world for years now.

I've got a brand new forged 347 stroker kit that you can put in your 302 block and make power cheaply. It's a brand new kit that I'm not using. Scott @ Couple can build it. That should be more than enough power for you.

Or you could buy my already running 306 with some nice go fast goodies in it. There's an ad in the Ford Parts for Sale on here.
