Life is a thought, think about it.
no,80s car suck thier slow and ugly
i think it may be a growing trend - especially since a lot of clean examples are coming out of the woodwork here in the south ( as opposed to out west where the scene is already strong and there ) - JDM already has had its phase.

I love the style of some older cars but also newer ones. I have always wanted a BMW 2002 to restore but yet to have found one in my price range lol.
I would like for older cars to make a come back to be honest...i mean i know that some ppl rock old school but some cars are well deserving of being in the Limelight again.

Bozzio for president.
I would say yes. In general, newer cars suck.
Hell I thought it was graffiti.
This is something that I honestly wanted to help do. Baby J and I have talked about this for a year now. And we hoped that was is taking place would happen. We hoped that if we got our cars and drove them everywhere and showed up at meets and such that people would catch on. And so far, as seen with running into John, it has. No one really thought twice about these cars until I, then Baby J, started posting ours quite frequently. And we hope this continues.[/QUOTE]Originally Posted by YoTa_BoX
In a way, these cars are more true to JDM than most all the newer cars you see on IA. Like my car. It was built in Japan. Not here. Parts as well. Straight up Japanese from the antennae down to the hood latch and radio. Lolol. Later, QD.Originally Posted by YoTa_BoX

You ever accidentally change the station when trying to adjust the volume? lol (sense the knobs are on opposite side then most are used to, for those of you that were lost with that question.)
Back to being stock and slow
If it is then it's good that my car is starting to get a bit of respect in a world where a lot of people still don't know what it is. If it becomes the new "everyone buy one and ruin the exclusivity of it" thing I'll be a little upset, but they're not making anymore old cars, so it's not possible for more people to own one than they do now. Either way, I like my own car regardless of what others think, but it'd be nice to get paid attention to at a meet for once. Last time I went to the V I think ONE guy talked to me about my car, then I post in IA after the new school wave of threads, and I get quite a few positive comments.
^^ Yeah, I drew a frame of a man running on each fan blade. That is him running at idle
hey man i thought of you when i saw it, but there is a real, REAL running driving GSL-SE for sale on CL for like, $1500Originally Posted by 87 Turbo II

ill only go as far back as 90. no older haha
i think its cool, however i think alot of cars lose their heart when they start becoming really popular. They just don't seem as special anymore.
Mine really dosn't leave the garage. People across the street think it is a tool bench.
80's ftw!
i be rockin a 88 honda, and has a 87 mazda thats a project carflip up lights ftw
it all started when i was 14. my dad gave a co-worker $30 and a dime bag of pot for a 1986 corolla. didnt know what it was. inital D what? just thought it would be a good car for me to have as my first car. then we saw this car http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWvoA99r_OI
in import tuner and its been love ever since. i know own 2 hachis and my Z. god i was stupid. i raped a corolla wagon for parts for my hachi, and then left it in a parkinlot to rot. i kick my ass erday for that one.
It might be the new thing, but it's not something I'm going to be getting into. Other than maybe a 240z, I don't think there is a single pre-early 90s japanese car that I would buy. No offense to those of you that like them, they're just not for me. If I'm driving something "old school" it's more than likely going to be from late 60s early 70s and have a v8 in it.
Haha maybe you misread? 240Z. (as in Datsun/Nissan 1970s)Originally Posted by quickdodge®

he said 240Z not 240SX...thats deff old schoolOriginally Posted by quickdodge®
same here with owning a late 60s early 70s car but then again i also love the 86 corollas since my grandma has one in Guatemala just the way they look i wouldnt mind owning anything old school as long as I like it I wont care what other people think.

Makes sense? lol

baby J and I were talking the other day about how there are probably a shitload of people with OS Japanese cars that we don't know about and that don't know that we exist. They probably have an old Corolla or 1200 or something sitting in the garage and think no one else is interested. That's why he and I have plastered our cars all over. Now you have Lex and a few others coming 'round and posting and working on their's more often. I love it and think it's great. Later, QD.Originally Posted by cactusEG
Here's MY take on it. There's something about an older car that does it for me. Maintaining/restoring an older car takes patience. From experience, it's not as easy as a car that is newer--where parts are more plentiful, yada, yada, yada. There has to be a love for it. I love having something that a normal person [nonmechanically-inclined] would have retired long ago.
Whether it's putting newer technology into the car or keeping everything original, there's something diggable about an older car running/performing top notch.![]()
yeah, i'd say its the new thing....Personally, im somewhat into old school cars due to the skill level thats required to fix/build one. They're usually very simple cars, which is imo, one of the best parts about them
What's with all the RX-7s(especially FCs) coming out of the woodwork???
IA Rules doesn't allow these images in sigs

Hopefully when I sell my Jeep I can get one. It's down to either an FC or first gen mr2 right now.Originally Posted by fcman
And old school will never die. It's always been around seeing as the cars always have been if that makes sense. There will be fanboys for everything. There are some people who don't know shit about older cars, but when they finally see one built correctly they will flip out and jump on the bandwagon so to speak. I wish my parents would have stopped having kids sometimes so I could have gotten my dad's old Nova, lol.
My input on this. I'm 19, tuning 20 in december and ever since I was little I loved old school japanese cars.. ALWAYS!!.. I own a FC (RX7) and I love it!! Even tho its my second one.. But hey it keeps me out of trouble, my FC is wat I work on.. I'm glad to see garages and groups like ZERO GARAGE hold meets and events just so us young guys can see more old skool cars and experience something way different then todays cars, old cars need some love and care.. Just like some old people do, even though sometimes it kills you and makes u angry when something doesn't go you way, its called passion.. And Passion is what drives me to love OLD SKOOL JAPANESE CARS.. Plus their better then new 1s lol.. But yea I wish more people would give there time in fixing a old rx7 or Z car.. It just fills a spot in your soul and pride in knowing your bringing back a car from the dead, to become something they would always want. So please people.. Look into a old car of ur dreams and go for it!.. We all love cars and that's what drives us!!.. I have my dream car.. Now I'm puttin in the time, sweat, blood and tears to create what I've always wanted..
