Default whats up with them steering wheels

ive noticed that those nardi steering wheels have become really popular. but why? theyre so ugly i know theyre expensive italian crap or whtever but it dont look right in a integra or a 240.

    1) its huge like a semi truck steering wheel
    2) its wooden....it dont match shit else in the car.
    3) it has chrome spokes...again it dont match shit else in the car
    4) it looks like it was made for older classic cars

    so wtf?
I asked a girl if i could buy her a drink, she said I have a boyfriend, so I said, well i have a goldfish, she said what? I replied, oh I'm sorry I thought we were talking about shit that doesnt matter.

it looks so goofy. im not doubting their quality or anything but i just dont think they mix well with modern cars. and i dont understand how much nicer it would drive i guess it would make it easier to turn if you dont have power steering but otheriwse it porbably makes it too easy and too cumbersome to turn.

My thoughts exactly. Wood has no place on any car interior newer than 1980 (Jeep Grand Wagoneers excluded).

i disagree...wood looks nice when it matches other trim parts of the car. i just dont like how large and thin those nardi wheels are, it dont match simply because large thin steering wheels without airbags and thin chrome spokes dont look like they belong on a modern car. if you look at older cars from the 80z and back all their steering wheels were large thin and they looked like they belonged in their time period.

Nardi makes quality stuff that is why.

As a Miata owner, you should now that Mazda went to Nardi in 1999 for a streering wheel and shift knob to put in the 10th Anniversary Model.

You're referring to this one, right?

I agree with you there...they don't seem to fit on modern cars. Only thing I can give an answer for is the large radius, which makes for easier leverage.

yea i have them but its no different than the steering wheel in the protoge and even a few miatas had the exact same looking steering wheel only without the nardi torino badging. now i diddnt say they were of poor quality or anything i just think they large wooden ones look ugly in moderin cars. my steering wheel looks like it belongs in my car. its the same color and texture and everything as the rest of the car.

i love my nardi... i've been through 3... first 2 were 350mm which were indeed like semi-truck wheels, now i have a 330mm and it is amazing. i like the big wheel too, though. it made it very easy to drive and still was 230498234x lighter than a factory wheel. im not too big on the wood grain and it only works in certain cars... mine is one that it would not, so i went with the leather black face. i've had a polished face that was really nice too.

/random rant, i'm bored and felt like contributing and posting a pic haha

With the black leather and finish, it works a lot better in that car.

Always thought they were ugly. Unless there luxury cars cars, with wood grain trim in the interior...

Doesn't Nardi OEM for a lot of makes?

    This one isn't too bad.

I kind of agree about the wood but then again i kind of don't. Depends on the car.
